Well, people need to fuck about, even in a serious situation, i'm glad they're having fun. Depriving someone of entertainment will just lead them to find another new source of entertainment.
Remember, being deployed and stationed at a base is much more different than being deployed and actually being in battle.
You have weeks or even months where nothing happens at all, and people do get bored.

I'm well aware of that. My cousin is a helicopter engineer, he said he will just sit there and read a book most of the time. He also said that whenever there is a bomb attack/break in at the base, he just says, "Okay, in a locked room, got a gun, I'm good."

I love these videos because they make you realize something. These are people, they are the same people you can see on the streets and just because they are part of a regiment or outfit doesn't mean they are suddenly brainwashed and assimilated into mindless killing machines. It makes me think back through all the wars. In WWII it's the same story, even on the german or Japanese side, they were just fighting for their country and they were just average joes, killing because their leader told them that the person his finger fell on was the enemy and threatened their future.
I'm not quite sure if this can be applied as easily to insurgents in the middle east though as their life if religion and they are dead serious about it.
