The report also states that, at a meeting attended by Telecom & IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and other government officials, the issue of pornography was discussed, where Ravi Shankar Prasad said that, although porn is legal in other countries, it’s a moral obligation to block it considering the Indian culture and values.
The government has not yet confirmed the date of ban, however, the process has probably started a while back, as it was reported that a few Internet service providers have already started blocking a number of porn sites and torrent-based websites.

Banning child porn is always good idea (was it not banned before?!) but banning all porn whatsoever will surely help wonders India's rape statistic. :rolleyes:

Child porn was always banned here, it's just that they're using this time to ban everything else too for the sake of muh morality.

Just as drug users increase their dosages over time, porn users end up seeking more and more extreme porn. This fantasy sex life will then intrude into the person's real sex life, since one essentially trains one's brain to find certain imagery to be arousing.

Difference between fantasy and reality. Just because you tie up your girl in the bedroom doesn't mean you're going to go out and kidnap people. Likewise just because you play GTA doesn't mean you're going to murder hookers, steal cars and use a tank to run over the police.
