I live in Essex, England, and my cousin has ran away to Scotland. Apparently he's gone to live with his Grandmother. The first I heard of it was when our mutual friend told me over lunch at school today; I shrugged it off, saying I that I would know if something as important as that had happened. Then, when my mother picked me up after school, she told me the same thing.
I checked Facebook, which is where my friend said he'd seen it first, and found my cousin's status to be this;

Which, as you can guess, is pretty fucking random.
I'm guessing that he has escaped to Scotland because he's tired of taking shit from his dad, (who is technically his step-father, but my cousin doesn't know that) who treats him like dirt. His mother is a bit better, but his Grandmother loves him more than her own daughter, so I guess he feels like she is the only one he can go to.
Me and my aforementioned mutual friend have tried to text and call him, as well as messaging him via facebook, but he hasn't replied. What should I do?
Go look for him.
Has he ever had some place that he goes to when he is upset?
If so then that is your top priority place.

If his life at home was poor to the extent that he would run away, I figure you should try and support him and make sure he gets to his grandmother's. From there, he could take the legal action needed and check if it's even possible for his grandmother to take custody. It could be that she simply doesn't have the money to do so.
