I was pleasantly surprised recently on discovering that the beloved mudkip is actually a real animal, and that I hold all of the tools suitable to keep one.

Some say the mudkip is a mudskipper, some say that it is an axolotl.
The one I would raise, would be an Axolotl. Though not quite as cute as the cartoon version, I still find the animal extremely interesting..

I have one on order, should come in the next few weeks. I can't wait.
Some background info on the Axolotl. It is from the salamander family. They are odd, as they do not undergo their metamorphosis to gain land based abilities, so they stay underwater 24/7. Some owners though have reported the spontaneous transformation of theirs, which is rare, as it causes them a lot of pain (apparently).
They are carnivorous, so a lot of meats should go down well. They have shitty teeth so suck on their food, so I'll get it food like bloodworm which it can suck on easily.
Oh and no I didn't just order it because it looks like a mudkip, they are really interesting creatures and I have always liked salamanders which is what these are closely related to.
My plan eventually, is to 1: give him the best life possible, but 2: due to their endangerment, try and give something back, by researching and hopefully trying some sort of breeding.
Oh no..
you ordered a pet axolotl because it looks like a pokemon?
That's not a mudkip dummy.
I fucking hate mudkip
You're not funny.
Oh no..
Hmm?
I'm waiting for a parody thread involving a Pokemon that looks like a human and well you know the rest
Mudkip is actually the best starter of that generation.
Make sure to evolve him into a Marshtomp, his stats go waaay up when you do.
[editline]herp[/editline]
Even though he looks retarded
Oh balls I'm going to get banned ain't I..
Oh balls I'm going to get banned ain't I..
I wouldn't see why, though short and rather uninteresting, this isn't a ban me thread. Though I suppose the OP did involve a meme of sorts, I think you justified it well enough.
However, it is a pretty poor post, try including more information on the axolotl, I am too lazy to google it.
I feel bad for the poor thing already.
you know they have to live in complete darkness=?
you know they have to live in complete darkness=?
No they don't.
They really prefer darkness, so some sort of red light/or a fair amount of hiding is good for them.
Well all I can say is I hope you did tons of research on keeping an axolotl as a pet.

I have tried my best. They are endangered as far as I am aware, so my plan is to let the little guy live as long as physically possible, and if possible find a way to breed.
I have about 10 years experience in aquatics so I am hoping I can transfer some experience over.

God damn you aren't gonna hump the poor thing are you?
you have 0 years experience in school because memes are retarded and everyone knows that
That makes no sense and this is an honest to god, non purposeful meme. (Didn't even make reference to one?)
God damn you aren't gonna hump the poor thing are you?
I'll try not to.
you have 0 years experience in school because memes are retarded and everyone knows that
Because memes totally have something to do with schooling.
This reminds me of that one time I wanted a pet Jynx and the police got mad at me :saddowns:
Wooper also looks like axolotl.

But Charmander is the best starter pokemon ever :(

It's basically a type of salamander that never grows up to be a proper salamander. They can regrow limbs, being sort of made of stem cells, and if you inject it with iodine it'll turn into a proper salamander.

Probably my favourite of the Kanto starters but overall I prefer Totodile.

Mudkip is pretty cool as well.
Wooper also looks like axolotl.

If anything, he looks the most like it.
Too bad Larvitar wasn't a starter.
On topic: Why get an uncommon pet that might die due to poor raising just because it looks like Mudkip? That's such a waste.

Pretty much, they do regrow limbs, you shouldn't keep two adults together though as they end up biting each others off.
OP, this would only be interesting if your poke---axolotl had already arrived, with pictures as well.
Until then, this thread is boring even for such a fine mudkip lover as myself.
experiment with them. cruel experiments best experiments.
especially with mudkip-ish beings.
