Everyone always says beware of the sharks, but in this case, beware of the humpback whales. Last weekend, a couple of divers were snorkeling at Souza Rock, off the coast of Morro Bay in California when two, 40-ton humpback whales almost swallowed them whole.
Francis Antigua and Shawn Stamback of San Luis Obispo were looking to get some incredible underwater footage off the central California coast – and that’s just what they got.
I highly doubt that they would of been swallowed anyways. Humpback whales have pretty good vision (not as good as their hearing) and can most likely distinguish between a human shape and the shape of their prey.

OvB ain't the only one studying Marine Biology. About a year from completing my B.S from UCLA.

Don't swim in schools of little fish near big whales.

It'd still be hard, if not impossible to see a human from beneath a large school of fish. The fish would look like a swirly dark mass from below more than likely.
What a whale of a tale.

"Kai-ryuu I summon thee." doesn't have the same ring as "OvB I summon thee."
But since you're here, what is your opinion on this? Kai-ryuu I summon youu.

The divers most likely weren't in any sort of danger though swimming around a spot that's full of bait fish isn't exactly the smartest idea. When a whale is feeding, especially if there's two of them, and the bait fish group size is big enough, it could attract anything from dolphins, sharks (if they aren't following something else already and in the particular location that the divers where in, sharks aren't that common but they still pop up every now and then) and other whales. Reason being that the open ocean is a lot like a desert, any time something like this occurs there's bound to be more showing up unless it's in a relatively empty part of the ocean but seeing as how it was Morro Bay there was probably a few other whales and some other critters lurking around below. You wouldn't want to get caught in a feeding frenzy if that ever happened.
