At the moment I am in love with Chillstep, any one got any good artists they'd like to share? or thoughts about why this genre is so awesome :D at the moment I just have Blackmill, and that is fine for me :P
Chill step isn't really a thing, there's a dubstep thread on the first page of the music section
quality OP
Chill step isn't really a thing, there's a dubstep thread on the first page of the music section
I disagree. I like music like in the OP that doesn't have too much "hard" beats in it, just fluid waves or something. I'm bad at describing things. Happy stuff?

But it's still dubstep. Most of the dubstep I listen to is the calmer or deeper stuff, dubstep that doesn't even have wobbles. Which is what i post the dubstep dubstep thread. I'm not really a fan of Blackmill though, his kicks and snares are very generic and are used by a lot of producers. Here's a taster of the sort of thing i like That last tune is just gorgeous, listen to it on a good set of speakers and it's just some next level vibes. I'd love to hear it live on some Funktion Ones, that'd be some transcendent shit.
did you just make up the genre chillstep? [editline]6th November 2012[/editline] the stuff posted in this thread is dubstep, it should be the crap that people like skrillex produce that gets its own subgenre - not the original definition of dubstep

Hard bass with good pacing, or a bit softer dynamic stuff. The harder stuff The softer stuff I don't really have a set genre that I listen to, just random things that just happen to sound nice in my ears.
M83 aren't Dubstep though, We Own The Sky is at least Synth Pop.

Complextro or something like that iirc.
Well, thanks for georgeface, you hot manly avatar using user, I found a new favourite "artist". I am a big fan of happy techno with lyrics that flow along each other really well.
Yeah, it's not techno.
I'm not really a fan of Dubstep, but I really enjoy "chillstep" as you put it. I only have blackmill though, so I can't really help you there...
is this one of those genres where only like 2 artists actually make it, and it sounds the same as an already pre-existing genre
