Hacks for games. - General - Facepunch Forum

Do you believe that hacks for games such as SethHack, Faphack, etc are acceptable for games like gmod? If not, why? [highlight](User was banned for this post ("This is NOT a debate thread" - Craptasket))[/highlight]

I believe they're acceptable if they don't negatively effect other people's gameplay experience. I mean, if I want to fuck around and kill loads of people really easily in a single-player game (not only Gmod), I don't see a problem, as it doesn't affect other people. Whereas if you go into a multiplayer game such as CS:S with an aimbot, it prevents other players having as much fun.

How is this a mass debate? This more belongs to fast threads/gmod section.

Personally I am against SethHack, Faphack and any other kind of cheat, and I just feel that Garry doesn't care about it. He only fully enabled VAC because of BaconBot was becoming so much of an issue. Hacks are for dicks... We don't need them. Your not skillful at all for using hacks, Coding a hack is better but their must be better things you can do like sell gamemodes or code luas or C+

I know of 1 or 2 anti cheat systems which can block sethhack and faphack and most modules which are hacks out their. And I've been told he will release it if gmod beta fudges it up and he can't fix it. I don't want to see that happen because it will mean Seth and Flapadar can find how he's detecting it and stop it, making it imposssible once again edit: Hacks in single player are fine but to ruin someone else's game is allmost as bad as a DDOS becasue they can't enjoy it When I say game I mean like a game of DarkRP or a game of OpenAura or Sandbox or Deathmatch not GMOD in general

It was always free, and now if I remember right, has university to concentrate on.

People still use it and all it takes is a couple of fixes to make it more undetectable Note to server owners: If you have SE2 enabled and your own custom and cheat then you will stop alot of things getting on your server

I use SE1 and my own anticheat, I detect or block every known or unknown cheat.

The way i look at it is that 90% of people who hack hack because they lack skill. Every so often you come across someone who will blatantly hack because they don't care if they get banned or not. Then you got the scumbags who hack and claim "It's their skill, their really good at CS:S." Hackers in my mind are honestly just pathetic.

Well said baby. I mean I went throguh a stage of hacking and I was actually worse that I normally was because of I couldn't configure the hacks to be realistic and just kept be banned or killed. I'm happy without hacks :D Ban hackors
