Some songs in progress - not sure what genre to place them in.

This is my first musical post, I'm a little nervous. I'm pretty new to musical creation, I'm only just beginning to produce things that have any resemblance to songs. Here are a couple of songs in progress that I'm really rather stuck on. If you guys have any critique or pointers I'd love to hear them. I'm using Garageband, but I don't like using loops, so I've been composing the songs in that sheet music window thing (score... I believe it's called?). Also, I apologize for the rough vocals, I need to invest in a real recording mic instead of the headset one I've been using.

Debating whether to add music to this or keep it just vocals.

This sounds a lot like Imogen Heap. I like it a lot, but the vocals sound like they've been run through a sort of autotune so stepwise changes in the melody come out as robotic. Whether you're using it or not, two things you can do to improve your vocals would be to sing scales and project your voice more. I'm hearing you sort of speak with a pitch, try and produce a fuller sound. If you're not already, breathe out from your gut when you sing.

The songs you have written are very nice! Keep it up.
