Popovkin said the moon-bound spacecraft would be launched from Russia’s new Vostochny cosmodrome. President Vladimir Putin has vowed to invest $1 billion in building this launch pad in the Amur Region not far from the Chinese border. Russia’s last and only moon mission was accomplished in 1973.
A longer article would have been nice, but it is what it is..
Perhaps they could ship some more moon rock. I want one :c

And then they find an abundant source of Helium-3 and begins a new space race that gets us up there quicker than ever... please <3
Lets hope America wakes up and gets NASA to compete with them again.

welcome to vladimir putin's ruuussiaan football!!
ДзІОЏ
No you cant put nukes on the moon!
At least we got China that's going to launch a lunar lander and rover this year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chang%27e_3
It won't work if the quality of the rest of their products is an indicator. Itt'l get there, move like ten feet, then conk out.
Why aren't we sending people there? its been over 40 years since the first landing of people you would think the technology to set up a moon base would be available. [sp]aeiou[/sp]
It won't work if the quality of the rest of their products is an indicator. Itt'l get there, move like ten feet, then conk out.
Trust me, China knows what it's doing when you speak about space flight.
This is really exciting. I can't wait to watch the launches :3
And then they find an abundant source of Helium-3 and begins a new space race that gets us up there quicker than ever... please <3
Helium-3 is not present in a sufficiently high density to make extraction feasible. We could probably extract a lot more with some kind of superconducting (expensive) collector in some Lagrange point between the Earth and the Sun (even more expensive).
