Russian warplanes violated Ukraine's airspace several times in the past 24 hours, a Pentagon spokesman has said, in the latest sign of a mounting confrontation between Moscow and Kiev. Pentagon spokesperson Colonel Steven Warren confirmed the breach on Friday, but did not provide more details, including where the incidents occured or what kind of Russian planes were involved. He urged Russia to take "immediate steps to de-escalate the situation," AFP news agency reported. With tensions soaring, US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel had tried to arrange a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Shoigu, to discuss the crisis, but Moscow has yet to respond to the request, Warren said. The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, has spoken to his military counterpart in Moscow, Warren said. After Ukraine announced military operations to counter pro-Kremlin rebels, Russia ordered its troops massed on the border to launch new exercises. 'Observers seized' The remarks from the Pentagon came hours after armed separatists in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slovyansk reportedly seized a bus carrying international observers from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The separatist leader in Slovyansk told reporters a problem had arisen when the observers tried to pass a separatist checkpoint, and that there was an Ukrainian "spy" among the group. He did not say where they were. The interior ministry in Kiev said the group, which included eight OSCE representatives and five members of the Ukrainian armed forces, was being held in the building of the state security agency (SBU) in the city which has been occupied by pro-Russian separatists. "Negotiations are going on for their release," a ministry statement said. Slovyansk, a city of around 130,000, has been for two weeks under the control of separatists who, like similar groups elsewhere in eastern Ukraine, oppose the central government in Kiev after the overthrow of a Kremlin-backed president. Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, the de facto mayor of Slovyansk, told reporters he believed a problem had arisen when the OSCE observers arrived at a checkpoint on the edge of the city manned by separatist fighters, Reuters news agency reported. "What the situation was I do not know," he said. "It was reported to me that among them (the OSCE group) was an employee of Kiev's secret military staff." "People who come here as observers bringing with them a real spy: it's not appropriate." The Vienna headquarters of the OSCE did not immediately confirm the information, but did say that all the observers in its main mission on the ground in Ukraine were accounted for, AFP news agency reported.
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/europe/2014/04/russian-aircraft-violated-ukraine-airspace-2014425221330275125.html Quit fucking around Russia
Their army is already in Crimea, how violating would it be for a jet to enter their space?
So, Ukraine stops their keeping of their own nation's peace on Russia's request, and Russia proceeds to escalate their shit? Logics, everybody!
So, Ukraine stops their keeping of their own nation's peace on Russia's request, and Russia proceeds to escalate their shit? Logics, everybody!
You act like Russia wasn't planning on invading in the first place.
You act like Russia wasn't planning on invading in the first place.
Well, the Russians are clearly there to keep peace!
Ukraine’s Acting Defence Minister Mikhail Koval said Russian troops had advanced within one kilometre of the border, while Ukrainian journalists claimed they could even read “Peacekeeping Force” signs painted on the Russian armour.

Well, the Russians are clearly there to keep peace!
Well once Russia captures Ukraine and kills all the Ukrainian terrorists then there will be peace, duh
Their army is already in Crimea, how violating would it be for a jet to enter their space?
Because Ukraine doesn't recognise Crimea being apart of Russia, just like the rest of the world
All these RUSSIA GON GIT headlines at once. The button I rigged up to play Two Tribes by Frankie Goes To Hollywood whenever It's Happening® is going to fucking explode at this rate.
And everyone just wags their finger and says No don't do that. Meanwhile Russia just continues doing whatever it wants, nobody's going to do shit except tolerate it with a frown on their face. The only thing stopping Russia from just completely taking the Ukraine is Russia As far as I'm concerned Sanctions after annexing a country is the same damn thing as basically buying it
But they've been probing airspace for years...
Being doing this shit for years http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2611419/RAF-Typhoon-scrambled-two-Russian-planes-stray-UK-airspace-today.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

In this case they did actually enter Ukrainian airspace. As far as I understand, anyway.

Do you honestly think that a spokesman for the Russian military would tell the truth about something like that? Don't kid yourself.
I know you're known for saying incredibly dumb shit, but maybe you should tried reading this time and realize its from the British Airforce.
My bad. From reading your quote I was under the assumption that it was a Russian military spokesman, not a UK one.
