The little girl was brought to the hospital with second degree burns to her face, neck, and shoulders. The girl's mom, Krystal Lockridge, told her daughter's dad that her boyfriend had burned the little girl, the affidavit says. The boyfriend, Kyle Dwayne Hankins, is under arrest. Krystal told police that she went to bed with her kids around 11:00. Then at 2:00 a.m., Krystal says, she heard her 2-year-old screaming. Krystal told police that she found her daughter in the living room with burns on her face. In this police affidavit Kyle Hankins told police the child urinated on herself while sleeping. He decided to bathe her. He filled up the tub and left her alone, he rushed back to the bathroom when he heard her scream. Police say their investigation revealed much different scenario. Officer Green says, "His story didn't line up to the burns on her face." Officer Green says, "The injuries she had looked like he had poured scalding water over while she was sleeping." From the affidavit: [I]"Her burns appeared to be from water being thrown onto her while she was sleeping, since the bed and pillow were wet. The burns are to the left side of her face and not the right...with an exception of the hot water that ran around her chin and neck area. The burn patterns show that (the girls) was most likely sleeping on her side and sucking her thumb when water was thrown onto her."[/I] Police say that Hankins became upset when they told him the girl's injuries were not consistent with a bathtub turn. And officer Green says it's likely the face of this two year old will never look the same. The child was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center for third degree burns to the face, neck and shoulder area. She is now being treated at a Cincinnati hospital. EPD police officer Steve Green says, "It's just hard to believe anybody would do that to a child." Evansville police say want this man to serve some hard time. Officer Green says, "Hopefully they'll do something to this guy for the horrible pains suffering he's done to this two year-old girl." 28-year-old Kyle Hankins is being held without bond tonight, charged with aggravated battery. Evansville police say Hankins has been arrest four time since 2005 for battery. When I was around that age I got boiling water over me as well. Unintentionally of course. I was a clever little bastard, I decided to climb up on some open drawers or something and managed to pull down a pot full of boiling water. My right shoulder got badly burnt and they had to take skin from my left thigh in order to replace the damaged skin. Still, I am fine today, although it does look a bit odd. I still consider myself lucky since I didn't get anything on my head or face, which would have resulted in my having bald spots and whatnot. All in all, that guy is deserves to be locked up for good for doing such a horrible thing.

The tub story is the least believable thing I have heard in a while. It's almost pathetic that he expected anybody to believe it.
