"I'm just a guy trying to do what's right, in tights." -Viper Video Link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/38103338?from=en-us_msntod&GT1=42007#38103338
Columbia, Tennessee (a.k.a. "The Mule Capital of the World") has a new defender: The Viper, a 20-year-old masked man who patrols the town square carrying batons and ninja stars. Police aren't impressed, but hey, someone has to defend those mules. Columbia police spotted The Viper in the ~34,000-person town's public square last week. They told the crime-fighter to quit the foolin' and to stop defying the town's "no masks" ordinance. Nonetheless, citizens are curious about the self-anointed do-gooder. Columbia bike shop owner A.C. Howell is warily optimistic about The Viper's potential as an agent of justice: "The Viper, I believe. Isn't he the Masked Viper? [...] I don't know. He needs something to do. Probably needs a job. I hope he's looking out for my benefit. I hope he's guarding my store [...] I welcome him to Columbia. I hope he does some good."
Someone's a big fan of Kick-Ass.
He'll be found dead in a dumpster within a week. I'll bet you :10bux:.
Are we the only country that has this?

Sounds like a badass to me.
You really don't really see vigilantes like this too often. We live in such a broken society when people believe that the will to take a stand and take matters into their own hands is somehow wrong. People think that just because we have professionals we don't need ameteurs. But when the ways of the professional don't work, sometimes you gotta throw in a bit of ameteurism to even out the status quo.
tl;dr: Someone watched Kick Ass way too many times.

Infact, I bet he's the college student in question.
Yeah I saw this guy on the news. Unfortunately, that only works in movies. IRL, you just look like a retard.

He needs a Girl [editline]07:08PM[/editline] or a Sidekick :v:

I read a post on reddit where a man saved a woman from being robbed while he was walking out of the supermarket. It's shit like that that makes a difference, not running around in tights thinking you're the shit.
I loved the part about his objective: "Find crime and report it to police" Then again, he probably couldn't do much with two plastic sticks and some ninja stars.
I love my state so much. Only here would something like this happen without anyone really caring enough to stop him.
Later tonight, a man as been arrested for child abuse, allegedly trying to turn his young daughter into a trained killer.
In a world of wrong... Someone has to be right...
All he's doing is reporting stuff he sees to the police. It's pretty lame.
What a loser. He's got to be SERIOUSLY bored.
We don't need people dressing up in spandex, we just need people to grow some fucking balls. I mean, if you see a fight occurring and you don't need your ass intact for that big project tomorrow, try to break it up. At the least, get help or contact police. Christ, I had a friend back in the day who was a lanky freshman at our high school and he regularly got in the way of seniors fighting. Kid had balls.
These people are everywhere and it's awesome. Many work as a kind of neighborhood watch and help report crimes to the authority and perform civil arrests and such. Others take on slightly more untraditional tasks such as the angle grinder man who releases clamps on peoples cars with an angle grinder. The spandex surely is a cultural thing, but I'm sure the anonymity really has it's benefits. For one it means you don't have to stand up to everyone about your acts, it might help them feel better about springing to action when it's needed. So in a way the spandex might just be the aforementioned "balls" people need to grow. These people aren't going to be Batman. And they sure as hell aren't gonna grow any super powers. Don't worry.
what kind of town bans masks
That one and mine. I can't even wear my gasmask out side on my deck.
Right..watch kick ass till he [sp]gets stabbed[/sp] That's reality.
