(CNN)Mexican authorities have detained so-called "affluenza" teen Ethan Couch and his mother near the popular Mexican Pacific beach resort town of Puerto Vallarta, officials briefed on the matter told CNN.
Source
Even rich people aren't immune to extradition for trying to flee the country to avoid facing the consequences of violating his probation. It's just perfect that they tried to hide in one of the top rich-American-magnet resort areas of Mexico. :v:

Fuck him and his family.
Puerto Vallarta is a really shit choice to hide out, but then again they're morons. [editline]29th December 2015[/editline] It's a beautiful tourist spot though.
Wait, he hid in that town that got hit by that Patricia hurricane? Pretty dumb move considering Mexico's used to them.
Oh yeah, now I remember this asshole. Glad he's close to being brought to justice.
Wow, Ethan, great moves. Keep it up. Proud of you.
*Excuse a young man for murder because he's never been punished and thus can't understand the consequences of his crimes *He commits more crimes Justice system really dropped the ball there.
That judge who originally let him off the hook should face criminal charges, it just isn't right that somebody like that can be a judicial official and be that fucking corrupt.
God, good. [editline]29th December 2015[/editline] DUI is one of the fucking scummiest things you can do, because you are taught and know fully that you're not just endangering your own life, but also the life of other people. And yet you decide to take that risk. If someone thinks he's able to control his car while UI, he probably shouldn't be driving while sober either because he clearly doesn't understand how dangerous a vehicle is. A lot of people see cars as a lax way of transportation, whereas in reality it's a heavy chunk of metal moving at fast speeds. Usually people start realizing that only after they hurt somebody with it. Driving is a way bigger responsibility than a lot of people make it out to be.
Affluenza is pretty much the modern version of the divine right.
Good. Take his ass to prison, and don't forget to save a cot for his mother for aiding and abetting.
Why do labels (I.E. affluenza) need to be put on everything?
*Excuse a young man for murder because he's never been punished and thus can't understand the consequences of his crimes *He commits more crimes Justice system really dropped the ball there.
If he doesn't understand the consequences of his actions, why is his ass running and hiding
Why do labels (I.E. affluenza) need to be put on everything?
Well "being a rich fuck" sounds kinda wrong.
Well "being a rich fuck" sounds kinda wrong.
Well in this case, derogatory statements are called for. Not labels that sound sensationalized.
If he doesn't understand the consequences of his actions, why is his ass running and hiding
Exactly. He sure as hell isn't going to be able to go with an insanity plea, either. They've got his ass.
It was only a matter of time before they nailed this scumbag and his accomplice mom. But now I wonder if they will actually give him and his mother that big a sentence? They got off easy before, hopefully this is enough to show they can't be trusted and just need to be locked up once and for all.
Exactly. He sure as hell isn't going to be able to go with an insanity plea, either. They've got his ass.
He might be able to afford it.
He might be able to afford it.
With the media attention this case has gotten? Good luck, they're going to hang him out to dry.

He's gettin' fucked.
Well in this case, derogatory statements are called for. Not labels that sound sensationalized.
why tho?
Officials suspect Couch and his mother then drove across the border and made the 1,200-mile drive to Puerto Vallarta
Wow, I've been there. Nice place.
never served a day in prison.
So how long until this young man isn't considered a Juvenile? He's 18.
Wow, I've been there. Nice place. So how long until this young man isn't considered a Juvenile? He's 18.
18 years is when your legally considered an adult in America iirc, so he's going to big boy prison now.

It's fucked up that we live in a country where a poor man will spend 20 years in jail for stealing $200 but a rich man will spend less than half a year for committing DUI manslaughter and then fleeing parole.
If you were poor, stole a can of beer, and couldn't pay bail, the country of the USA will pay thousands, hundreds of thousands, to incarcerate you. If you're rich, and do apparently fucking anything in the USA, you will just be let go to do whatever you want. See Robert Durst. See this guy. [editline]31st December 2015[/editline] Money can buy you a good enough defense that you can convince 12 people that you cut up a body in self defense. That's how fucked the courts are. Don't anyone be surprised when this guy walks away scott free again. It's what you're paying for in the US.

[editline]2nd January 2016[/editline]
Fuck him and his family.
I hope you mean just his mom and dad right? the rest of the family probably knew nothing about what happened.
