Several months ago, I received a package in the mail. It was quite heavy, and when I opened it, I happily discovered that it was my SRC T91. And then I set the box it came in against the corner of my sunroom and forgot about it. Flash forward to last Friday night, as I signed onto the IFAP Tinychat. For some reason, as I was talking to Kawaii, Scotty, Ossumsauce, and Taepodong, an idea stuck me to retrieve that cardboard box and make a rifle out of it. And after four days of blood, sweat, tears, and cardboard, my work has paid off.
When I first picked up the Taiwanese Tactical M4A1 (they call it an "M4C1", "C" presumably stands for "cardboard"), I was surprised at how light it was. It was literally almost weightless. Even a Tokyo Marui Hicapa would be heavier than this gun. It was also very wobbly, and definitely did not have a steel body. But I could feel that the production quality was in fact, very good. I wonder how that works out. The M4C1 features very nice Taiwanese Tactical trades, and even came with a unique serial number. Mine was "0001". Something interesting to note was that the selector switch was center marked "SAFE", instead of "SEMI". But one advantage that gives me is that I don't have to pass through the semi option if I was planning to go straight to automatic.
The weapon came stock with a seven-inch RIS handguard, and did not come with a carry handle or front sights. But that's not really a problem to me, since I was planning to just give it an ACOG and maybe a PEQ-15. The collapsible stock also slid right off, and the locking mechanism built into it seemed a bit weak. However, it does accept TM compatible M4/M16 magazines, though mine had some feeding issues. I must have received a lemon.
A very nice feature about this weapon though, one that sets it apart from most any other gun, is its realistic field strip. Only GBBRs can compare with something like this. The weapon comes apart at two receiver pins, one body and one for the pivot, and one can easily access and remove the bolt, bolt carrier, and charging handle.
The gun will pass any chrono. I chronoed it at 0, which is way below the maximum FPS of any field. It is also very lightweight, beating out a lot of the JG and Echo 1 plastic bodied M4s in terms of weight. I can easily run miles with this weapon and not suffer from fatigue.
I would highly recommend this gun to anyone looking for a good melee weapon, has boxes lying around, or needs to make money selling a "KWA SR7- PAINTED BROWN CAMO" on eBay.

I TRIED TO DO THE ACTUAL AR WAY AND I REALIZED IT WOULDN'T BE SECURE WITH THE UPPER CLOSED.
actually bring a working version to airsoftgi or airsoftextreme or something
guaranteed they'll probably make a vid on jewtubes and you'll get tons of offers on the gun
also the entire gun looks kind of loose, you should add more cardboard parts as filler so it doesn't fall apart

I just realized that when you get shot, pellets will get stuck in there, that makes me sad. At least you can prove you weren't shot from now on.
