Artstyle looks nice.
Made me dust out my pep to play rondo of blood
Symphony of the night is a very interesting game. Never finished it, but I loved the style.
Very interested to see where a successor would go in terms of gameplay.
I really hope this isnt another Mighty Number Nine.
I'm fairly interested into playing the Castlevania games for a while myself so this will be something to look out for.
And Gebel looks like bit a more slim and younger Van Hohenheim from Fullmetal Alchemist.
I was just about to post this. I really want to help fund it, but I'm a bit underwhelmed with how Mighty No. 9 is coming along despite 4 million being put into the project and a dream team of game devs at the helm.
and it's already nearly funded, only ~105,000,- to go
I never liked the "igavania" games.
I wish we could get a old-school style castlevania game with a western artstyle like Castlevania 1-4 were.

What was wrong with MN9?

You can find out yourself by just googling it.

Most of the negativity I'm seeing is people saying they expected it all to be hand drawn sprites and not using Unreal despite the original kickstarter description and trailer making it very clear that the game was going to be 3D rendered in the Unreal engine.
And Internet Aristocrat being the same MRA alarmist asshole he always is.
Another thing that makes me cautious about this is that Iga seems to be pushing that this will be very SotN-like, but I don't think that's entirely what we would get. I don't think any of his later games really matched SotN in terms of its pacing and atmosphere. SotN is a pretty slow, relaxed game, which is one of the reasons why I love it. Just listen to its soundtrack- very slow, orchestrated pieces that don't sound like typical video game tracks. The music in the DS Castlevanias is great, but its very video-gamey and upbeat unlike SotN. I love Inticreate's work a lot, but they make fast action games. I'm sure their vision of a Metroidvania will be great, but it probably won't be as relaxed as SotN. Another thing I loved in SotN was the interactivity of the environments. It was cool that I could just sit down and chill in a chair that was in the background. Little touches like that really added to the immersion, as dumb as that may sound.

No thank you

This is what kill it for me, that and the fact they're working with Inti. I don't want another MN9 were we ended up getting gameplay and it looked not so great. Kickstarters should always launch with some sort of gameplay video showing that they've actually done some work.
It already almost reached goal. Wow

Thats what makes the yooka-laylee kickstarter so great. They have actual examples of the characters and music, and even have a playable demo area they showed off to a bunch of people.
what the FUCK is going on 2 minutes into the kickstarter teaser

I'm now imagining the cheesy Symphony of the Night opening with Old Snake's voice replacing Richter's normal voice.
I'm not a fan of the art style. The enemy design is kinda bad too.
learned my lesson from MN9
not touching.

General Bullshit and A community manager that destroyed the community (and when the community complained about it they were told they were "sexist".)
seriously the fourm for MN9 is ultra dead except for like 5 people. They made the forum only viewable by backers so you can't see it (i can though)
I'm excited, but shit's nearly funded and has no in game footage while being a 2.5D game (rather than 2D sprite based), so I'm not going to back it.
All video game Kickstarters should really do what Yooka-Laylee did. Show off an actual "game" that was made so you could see the concepts come to life essentially. That's why I backed it despite it already being funded and the massive hype around it.
Show me some actual work, not just ideas.

I just imagine David Hayter would be their only actor. Everyone is David Hayter, even the women. Especially the women.
snip misread the price
It just barely went live and kickstarter already reached it's base goal
I wonder how much funding are we going to see at final days :tinfoil:

ARPG Castlevania >>> classic. There, I said it.
This game will be 2.5D and apparently aims for something akin to Guilty Gear Xrd with translating 3D models into an anime 2D style. On a Kickstarter budget, that's probably going to look pretty cheap, high-quality artwork or not. Since we only have concept art to go off of, this pretty much reeks of the basic degrees of a Mighty No. 9. Whether it goes deeper than that, we'll see in due time inevitably.
The fact that Comcept contacted the backers for MN9 yesterday about this going live today should raise a few alarm bells about the project.
Eeeeeehh, I'm not so sure about thi-

Let me grab my wallet.
They should get the VA's from SotN.

Didn't know they were going for a horror game.
Eh, I'm on the fence with this. On one hand, this is the MN9 team, which means a lot of bullshit and the final project probably not looking so good. On the other hand, we have Igarashi producing it- the man was the producer of several castlevanias, such as SOTN and AoS (both of which I've done to completion). If there's anyone who can reign in the team and make them put out a good game, it's gonna be him. For comparison, Inafune (the man behind MN9, aka "let's bring back classic megaman!") was only a character designer up until megaman 8, and while he did produce later on in his career he was never a judge on how the classic megamans should have been played.
I dunno, personally I'm gonna back this, but I can understand the hesitation of others who see this.

Well don't forget, MN9 is certainly Classic-esque in the visual department but the gameplay is far more derivative of X and beyond like the territory Inafune was more involved with.
