‘Ghostbusters’ Director Says He Won’t Reboot Another Classic Movie
Asked whether he’d ever consider reimagining another classic film property, the director responded decisively.
“No, no, no. No, I will not,” Feig told The Huffington Post, laughing. The creator of cult hit “Freaks and Geeks” and director of “Bridesmaids” will happily go back to original material, which he noted comprises the bulk of his work.
“This one was just too tempting because I knew we could do something with it that was exciting,” he explained. A gender-bent sequel with cameos by all the original main cast members? Sure, that’s pretty exciting. Or blasphemous, depending on your view.
The stale ass feminist drama surrounding the movie was more exciting then the movie itself... nice try though.
Always nice to see some good news in SH
Too bad you couldn't make the one time you did do it worth a shit. Oh well.
Paul Feig is crazy. Wouldn't surprise me if he'd do it anyways.
Fucking good.
Now go off to Directors Jail just like you feared.
boo
remake reservoir dogs with an all-female cast please
can the rest of hollywood get on board with this please
It wasn't about the reboot. If it was original, the movie still wouldve been pure garbage

Would it be called Reservoir Cats?
Would it be called Reservoir Cats?
Reservoir Bitches
Doesn't mean this kinda of stuff will stop. There's still the all-female Ocean's film with Sandra Bullock, and Splash with Channing Tatum.

Reservoir Pussies.
Reservoir Bitches
If Tarantino's still directing then I'd definitely watch that.

You joke, but that could be a good exploitation type movie.
Remake Sex In The City with an all-dude cast.

Oh, those masterpieces.
But yeah, this movie was such a non-thing. Even after all this controversy the movie flopped. It wasn't offensively bad. It was just not good. And forgettable.
I'll probably never stop being amazed at how far up these people have their heads stuck up their asses. "the sexist and misogynistic criticism" is such utter fucking tripe. Sure there were some people who hated it from that pov but the majority hated it the cast being all women not because it was all women but because it was so blatantly trying to be ~progressive~ and HAI GUYS IT'S GHOSTBUSTERS BUT ALL WOMYN AINT IT COOL.
Well at least one director gets the message now...

Or because it was just a bad movie
I'd rather have the idiots who thought progressive controversy or whatever you want to call it was a good marketing move get the message than the director himself.

Talking about people disliking it when it got announced, not after the movie came out.

It was a marketing angle. The problem is that it was a marketing angle that worked AGAINST the core audience.
It really isn't just the movie, Feig. Sure it was bad, and the aimed demographic was worse given the film's manbashing, but your marketing team, your writer, your production studio - hell, your actresses too - all contributed to this shitstorm you want out of. But you probably should've stepped up and done something about it that didn't stir the fire more.

how could you not see how bad from all the promotional material and interviews
it's like waiting for a tsunami to hit you before deciding it was deadly
Well, Ghostbusters will probably end up losing a ton of money. Even though it will earn around $200 million on a $150 million budget, theaters get at least half of it, plus there are marketing costs. So probably no one will let him reboot another franchise even if he wanted to.

Movie theaters get 1% of ticket sales. Their money comes from popcorn
