That only worked for TRON because the "Young Jeff Bridges" was actually a computer program, and while he looked real in photos, he looked very alien in movement, and it worked for TRON because that's the way he was meant to look, but CGI just isn't good enough to make believable movement, so they would all look like weird alien computer programs.
