So I have a German Friend who translates German news to English
30 replies, posted
He tells me he's sick of the German media constantly spewing nonsense and he's tired of trying to explain to English speakers how bad the German media is, so he took it upon himself to make the only German to English translations of some news articles that exist anywhere:

These guys were refusing to pay rent or get jobs so the German media started calling the apartment owners Nazis for getting upset about it.

In the defense of the kids in that first video, we're all a little disgusted by Germans.
it sickens me how refugees who "hate" germany and germans take it upon themselves to try and ruin the country that, with mostly open arms, welcomed them in to help them. they're not just biting the hand that feeds, they're fucking amputating it, eating it, and shitting it into the other hand.
if they hate it so much, they should get the fuck out. if they can't stand the germans, they should go somewhere else. if they can't assimilate into the society they're in, they shouldn't be there.
and before someone twists this around to call me a xenophobe, i'm not. i just cannot stand bullshit like this. it's not acceptable.
A guy(living in germany right now) on a finnish site just posted about how different the views of public are from the media in Germany. And it's no surprise, same thing happens here. ALL the main news sites have blocked commenting on anything related to refugees

I get that your being sarcastic, but this isn't the time to be sarcastic.
I dont get the point of these videos, they don't really show the media doing anything?!
In the defense of the kids in that first video, we're all a little disgusted by Germans.
So you're a racist then? Cool.

Yes they do? They show the media pinning the local Germans as the bad guys and when they report on something like a bus driver being punched by migrants they make it out like it's their own fault and they're only punching people because of racism somehow.

Here's another good one of his. They have all these "experts" talking about the migrant crisis and they all just agree with each other on every point basically. Then they bring on a Turk and have this whole guilt thing where he starts accusing ethnic Germans of all being nazis and the audience applauds.

I don't know. It didn't seem like the narrator of the bus video were making the bus drivers out as villains. In fact, she seemed pretty sympathetic towards them since she was talking about how they fear for their lives and how much danger they could be in, yet she didn't really say much about the attackers.
The first video is Immigrants Voiceing their opinion, they dislike and are grossed out by ham and germans? WoW this country has a different culture than mine.
The second video is not even about immigrants they talk about how it has gotten more violent in society and Bus drivers are being attack more often as a result.
Third video is ablsolute BS video, The Goverment cant kick you out like that. Even if they want to kick you out you have cirka 3 months of time to leave.
The fourth video is not even to do with the media this man who was supposed to give the immigrants welfare was a Racist.

Can confirm. A friend of mine that moved to Germany said that there are nazi writings all over her city. Apparently the migrant crysis is causing the german population to turn radical. The media completely ignores that.

So can they kick you out? I've already posted a few stories of German governments clearing buildings to make space for refugees.
Our interior minister said some time ago "Questioning the moral of refugees, is racism"
Which sums up pretty much the whole fucking thing.
Oh refugees raped a women? It's our fault because we failed to integrate them to society :(
[editline]9th January 2016[/editline]
And can't forget the classic that comes up with every refugee rape news
"oh but white men rape the most"
Oh ok yeah, I agree that any man should have the privilege to rape, no matter of ethnicity

You can't be kicked out, only if you havent paid the rent then you get kicked out but you get a notice before they do so. The guy in that video didnt pay the rent while he was in the hospital simple as that.

The first video tries to show how many turks are not integrated in german society. It does not blame the germans for not wanting to interact with turks. The second video does not, at any point, blame the victims. Neither does the third blame the german woman, it is pretty clear that nobody should be kicked out of their homes to make room for refugees.
You post these cherry-picked videos and still manage to falsely interpret them fucking lol.
There are many examples for biased reporting in german media, but if this was an attempt your friend fucked up.

The current top news at iltalehti is trying to justify the increased molestation and rape done by refugees, by saying "but women were molested in the 1960s too!" Comments obviously closed/censored to prevent any opposing opinions.
Also his channel pic sure doesn't make taking him serious easy

Are you saying that its bullshit because they shouldn't be allowed to do that or it's bullshit because it can't be real? Because it does happen a lot in Germany.

IF you are in an APARTMENT that is OWNED by the GOVERMENT you CANNOT be KICKED out UNLESS.
You didn't PAY the RENT. EVERY GERMAN CITIZEN has the right to a living space.
Those videos are so cherry picked as well, All buses now have their own Cabin for the driver so that you cant even access the driver.

He wasn't in the hospital very long, he got no notice and wasn't even told they were taking his house. Even if he didn't pay rent, they still cant do that, but I doubt it was because of rent.

Yeah and thats because migrants kept punching the drivers, they shouldn't need that level of protection and have to fear for their lives just for driving a bus. The fucking media even said something in defense of the attackers like "to a Muslim, being asked to pay can be very confrontational."
It wasn't about the mirgrants, there was an 80 year old man who got almost beaten to death on trainstation from a bunch of German 18 year olds.
IF you don't pay the rent you can get kicked out , of course the person receives a letter first of paying the rent or the person will be removed from the apartment.
The fucking media even said something in defense of the attackers like "to a Muslim, being asked to pay can be very confrontational."
No, no, they fucking didn't. The point was that, if someone can't pay a ticket or doesn't want to, he will most likely direct his anger at the bus driver. They aren't defending the attackers. How are you this dumb holy shit
Even before cologne I wasn't looking forward to the massive amount of people coming into germany, but there is a difference between that and /pol/ tier propaganda you and your friend seem to be a fan of.

My morning routine was to brew some coffee and launch up iltalehti and iltasanomat and read the new happenings. I got tired of their bullshit ~8 months ago when their agenda became obvious

You mean "they aren't allowed to work and the 'apartment owners' (actually government officials) are breaking the law", right?
In any case, the translation isn't that good.
Most of the time it's correct but there are a few larger mistakes that change the meaning of some sentences.

This is partially mistranslated to make it seem more intense, for example the glass shards pierced "his skin", not "the victims[sic] flesh".
As someone who speaks german, this thread just confuses me because these videos don't have much controversial factor other than a racist Amtsleiter.
A guy(living in germany right now) on a finnish site just posted about how different the views of public are from the media in Germany. And it's no surprise, same thing happens here. ALL the main news sites have blocked commenting on anything related to refugees
That's funny, because most of the videos here seem to be from main public media sources in Germany (ZDF, Das Erste, WDR). I am not quite sure what OP wants to tell us with this thread. Is he angry because the media isn't one-sided?

On a related note: Tagesschau.de (the news program on Das Erste) has comments enabled on refugee stories like everywhere else.
ZDFheute doesn't appear to allow comments anywhere, and neither does the WDR's main online news service.
Monitor has a blog where comments on refugee issues are enabled though, and outright has a forum where the TV segments can be discussed.
I can't see any signs of them treating the topic differently than other news. If anything it's one of the more popular disussion topics on the sites.
(Monitor mostly investigates failures of the state, other media outlets, and large corporations or organised groups, so if it seems biased that's probably because it categorically doesn't pay attention to certain matters.)

It's mostly the preselection.
He's clearly not translating out of fun for translating but to gice some weird "alternative" look on the immigrant/refugee subject.

It's not though. Alleging that even based on those cherry-picked clips is really ridiculous.
The only thing that straightforwardly gives that impression here is your mislabelling of the footage.
