I liked that russian hoax guy, his videos were funny and disturbing at the same time, but the absurdity of what he was doing was sufficient for his content to be viewed as a form of entertainment, not an obvious attempt at a hoax, at least that is what I thought back when he was a hot topic.
captain disillusion's got the best presentation. i thought that was going to be a straightforward debunking but it went into so many interesting places

He used to do fairly straight debunks with this visual style and flair because it was genuinely interesting. But I think he's realised now that just debunking things isn't good enough, trying to explain why people might keep falling for things now that we know how easy it is to create a doctored video on top of the debunk definitely gives his stuff more meat.

I thought the same thing too. I knew it was bullshit but I watched them late at night and I could not stop thinking about it and I was taken in. It wasn't until later that I went back to analyze the video that I could see small warping around the parts that were moving. Also the "BLYAT!" when he smashes it with the book is funny.
But the guy who has the upbeat presentation and just goes straight to an advanced lifeform is just bullshit.
