I really hope that isn't true. For that could imply russian involvment because I dont think those rebels could get their hands on an anti-aircraft vehicle like that

It was most probably stolen/captured from the Ukrainian armed forces.
I really hope that isn't true. Plus if Russia were to be the ones to supply them, i'd have thought that they'd at least give them the dedicated radar unit as well, so they can tell the difference between a civilian aircraft or a military one and don't end up hideously embarrassing their backers and causing an international incident.

Plus, I personally would think it'd make much more sense to give the rebels MANPADs for taking out ground attack aircraft, helicopters and transports rather than something rather overkill and damn near impossible to hide like a Buk.

Well it would be not fair to deem this theory at all but yeah, soo far this is huge assumption since it's based on "Expert" opinion on internet over photos when Official flight experts commision has yet to reach crash site (thanks to Ukraine's military continued bombing of surrounding area)
Too bad pestcontrol got perma'd
So that narrows it down from Ukraine or Rebels to Ukraine or Rebels.
The only thing it trully narrows is that plane was hit with warhead full of shrapnels.
Soo... yeah.

I thought that was untrue; the military bombing around the surrounding areas?
