That's according to a release from Japanese artist network pixiv—pretty much the overseas equivalent of deviantArt—which has tapped Kojima, Evangelion character designer and manga creator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, and Twilight manga artist Ryuji Gotsubo to judge a Twilight: New Moon fan art contest. Kojima, who I'd wager aligns himself with Team Jacob, is reportedly a "huge fan" of Twilight, according to the Anime News Network's translation of the release. He'll contribute his expert opinion as well as a signed copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, apparently, to the list of grand prizes. If you've got some Edward Cullen fan art lying around—perhaps in the Yoji Shinkawa style—you might want to get a Japanese speaking friend to register with pixiv and submit it on your behalf. Otherwise, expect this contest to be an "only in Japan" kinda thing. The more cynical of you may see this as an attempt to broaden the exposure of things like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to a very passionate fan base. But I'm betting you're way, way off. Way off.
WHAT THE FUCK
he was paid
Well duh, Twilight is like anime for Westerners
My view of him hasn't budged the slightest. He has made one of my favorite game series and I will still hold him with that regard. Although I must say, what the fuck! Edit: TH89 below me is right. Even though I love his games, the story line makes your head turn to mush simply because trying to understand it like trying to take deeper symbolic meaning out of Twilight. It can't be done.
I always thought he was full of shit so this doesn't surprise me. The man can't write a coherent story to save his life, neither can Stephanie Meyer. Her stories are just aimed at 13 year old girls, whereas his are aimed at weird weeaboos who masturbate to anime drawings of 13 year old girls. It's a match made in heaven.

Isn't he also a big fan of Left 4 Dead?

I imagine they changed it around a bit in the Japanese translation to make it less fail.
Book?
Yes, Twilight is a book. A horribly written one, but a book nonetheless.
:v: just, :v:
ಠ_ಠ nooooooooooo
so what? Sure Twilight is a terrible book, but you know what else is obnoxious? The bandwagon for it.
Lol, I bet he's trying to get a market from Twilight dorks. If he's a fan of L4D, he's clearly too bad ass to like Twilight.
so what? Sure Twilight is a terrible book, but you know what else is obnoxious? The bandwagon for it.
At least the bandwagon doesn't have vampires that sparkle when they walk into the sunlight. :science:
He's gotta be trolling us. He must have his Sorid-u Snake-u trollface (not coolface, you fags) on right now.

holy shit, this makes twilight awesome all of a sudden
what a twist :o

You know, this really does not surprise me, because both metal gear solid and twilight have plots that are so convoluted and complicated that they really do not make much sense. However, metal gear solid's storyline is a STORYLINE rather than being a series of suspenseful events.
man i kno rite i have abosulte NO RESPECT for people that read a book i dont like i mean cmon they shud kno bettr
Yes, I have no respect for people who honestly like a book about sparkling vampires with no flaws and a perfect self insert girl who gets everything she wants.
