Im studying Architecture and this semester Im taking something called "Architecture and Photography". In this course we have varied seminars where we analyse photos of different photographers. Stuff like Thomas Demand, Lynne Cohen, Jeff Wall etc even though its basically anybody we bring.
I have a presentation coming a month and my theme would be "Architecture: The subjective view", which would be the opposite of an objective view. Since I never dived that deep into the world of photography, my references are probably not a lot more than what I learn through these presentations. That is why I come here to see if you had any good photos that could help me. Ive been going through some threads and Ive seen a lot of stuff, but if you know a good picture for my presentation, please do post! Ideally it should be architecture related.
The Bechers could be useful, I don't quite understand the subjective part but they took a really famous series of photographs of buildings where they photographed the same type of building (barns, water towers, mining buildings) in the exact same way over and over.

I think the Bechers would fit the least because what they did was sober documentary photography.
I don't full understand the theme too but I guess it would be something like

Oh yeah we talked about the Bechers before. I think there was actually a seminar from them last thursday but I didnt go. Anyway the Bechers work can be considered a pretty objective work.
Its a pretty open theme. Anything can come in as long as one can observe it from a subjetive POV, and that would probably mean that there's something more to a picture than what we simply see.

For example, Benoit Paillé

For this picture, I guess I can say that even though it´s just a lamp and some buildings on the back, theres also a sterile, synthetic feeling to it, the way its taken. I dont know.
I guess I need better examples

I don't know any popular photographers, but gonna drop some random pictures so that you can specify what kind would be useful.
Unfortunately taken from my tumblr feed, where people rarely bother to source for whatever reason.

You should take a look at some Michael Wolf's. Makes some good abstraction on modern architecture on how it feels living in big, crowded cities.

sneak some desuh in there (if he hasn't deleted all his pictures again by now)
^That might get funnies (probably because of the deletion reference) but I'm legit using facepunch photographers in my uni work.
every time desuh deletes a picture he deletes a part of my soul

Yeah i think i should have at least 1 or 2 classi-er examples. Some B&W stuff and such. But overall it can go a lot more abstract, at least as long as I can talk about it. It doesnt even habe to have architecture as its main point
for example, todays theme was City spaces and this is one of the photos the professor showed

I think its speaks for itself but oen thing is that the architecture isn't really something that important in the picture, its just there for context. And how it relates to City Spaces would be how its such things that happen in the city, just like anything else. Following that were some riot photos and stuff
[editline]14th May 2014[/editline]
whereas this one is more about architecture
