I think it's a normal human reaction to get super excited upon receiving a multi-hundred dollar thing that you really want by just a slim chance.
So wait, why is this worth $400? I haven't played any CS:GO.
Honestly this would be me come the day I actually unbox my first Unusual in TF2. Not because I can wear it, because I could sell it for alot of keys. Serious talk, get the right hat worth the right amount of keys, and you could pre order a $60 no hassle. Keys are how I pre ordered the Brave New World expansion of Civ V.
Jeez, when he said i think i just shit my self. i thought he was kidding around.
So wait, why is this worth $400? I haven't played any CS:GO.
Knives in CSGO are extremely rare, and there's even less of a chance you get a factory new knife. Because of this, the base price of a certain knife is usually set by the first person to get one and sell one, and the price is usually set quite high to pay off some of the money lost buying crates and keys.
That's just sad. Both that he shit himself and that people are willing to pay 400 for a virtual knife.

This is one of the most tame unboxing I have seen, Atleast he isnt screaming like a school girl.
Another factor that bumps up the price and rarity is whether or not it's a StatTrak, which his knife is. my merge Yeah, this is tame (excluding shitting himself) compared to Anomaly's knife unboxings.
You know what I did when I unboxed my first unusual? I just said "Neat" and went on playing.
perfect title
My friend got a knife in CS:GO in his second unboxing. He sold it and bought GTA V and a cheaper knife.
0/10 thread title, didn't say could not contain his excrement
Did he really have to give his viewers a look at it as he walked out?
My friend got a knife in CS:GO in his second unboxing. He sold it and bought GTA V and a cheaper knife.
I think I'm trying cs go
I think it's a normal human reaction to get super excited upon receiving a multi-hundred dollar thing that you really want by just a slim chance.
but to poo yourself?? [editline]20th April 2015[/editline] tbh him saying "why does this always happen" at the end and the perfect timing has me thinking this is fake but i'm gonna stay blissfully ignorant
You know what I did when I unboxed my first unusual? I just said "Neat" and went on playing.
Cool thanks
Should be renamed to "can't contain his excrement"
Could very easily be faked.
Must be faked, a normal person would turn off the camera.
So they can sell these items for real currency?
On the marketplace, Yeah
That's just sad. Both that he shit himself and that people are willing to pay 400 for a virtual knife.
There are plenty of paintings that have only a single drop of paint on them, or none at all, and they're worth thousands. Even a card game like Magic: The Gathering has cards that are worth as much as a house that you can get yours hands on. You could of course say it's cardboard and ask why anyone would 'waste their money' on it, but that's simply because you don't understand the sentiment people carry for these things. I don't think it's sad at all. Some people value certain things more than others, who's to say what you think is worth a lot should be worth anything at all to somebody else?
So wait, why is this worth $400? I haven't played any CS:GO.
It isn't.
It isn't.
A minimal wear Butterfly Night Stat Trak is worth $376 according to current market prices
It isn't.
it only costs as much as people are willing to pay for it. and naturally if a few of these knifes are in circulation the price is going through the roof. if everyone in the community collectively said "wait, knives aren't worth $400" and didn't buy it, i'm sure the price will drop but the fact is there are people out there willing to buy knifes at their market prices. they're the ones making it worth $400. as for my personal opinion: they're just all collectors in my eyes. i'm sure most of us can agree that CS:GO items hold close to no physical or practical value, but there's nothing bad that people find sentimental value in what they like. they're really just as "dumb" as baseball card collectors or some shit. "buying knives is just a waste of money. they could've just donated it to something useful like cancer research" they really wouldn't.
they have no intrinsic value because they cost nothing to produce and have no functional use, but they have a very high extrinsic value due to vanity/prestige/the fact that they can be traded for more valuable stuff. virtual items are a weird one cause they arent really the same as say a diamond necklace, which still has a fairly high intrinsic value due to the work that goes from mining the diamonds to being in a store despite being just as functionally useless. if they are worth nothing to you personally then so be it, but that doesnt change their extrinsic value as agreed by their economy, same goes for any collectible item. it might seem stupid but it is what it is. unless the overwhelming majority of the economy agrees that they are no longer worth that price, then that is their worth.
This seems fake to me. "Why does this always happen?!?!" No normal person would even think of saying that, let alone standing up and just waddling off immediately.
