Not okay, Brother: WWE scrubs away Hulk Hogan from their history completely
An unusual story is developing late Thursday night, as WWE has seemingly completely disassociated itself from Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.
Hogan has been pulled from WWE.com completely, he is no longer listed as a judge on Tough Enough, and all of his merchandise links have been removed from WWE’s online shop.
Not much is known why, but yesterday a poster on a sports forum revealed some information long before the news broke.

Pretty disappointing if this turns out to be true- I've heard stories of him being racist, but this is Mel Gibson levels of racism. Either way, WWE completely erasing someone from their history is rare and rather sad. Can't say I blame them for doing so, I suppose.
Hogan has always been a piece of shit in so many ways, but due to his stardom it really didn't hurt him at the time, just look at what he did in his WCW days.
But yeah, it this is true, he is gonna get Benoit'd
Considering last person who they sort of did this to was Benoit, makes me wonder if that really is the reason
If it's true he should be, while it's known he's pretty much stuck in the 70s socially speaking, there's just no reason for this. None.

If what's true? What is the claim being made against Hogan, exactly? All I'm seeing is a blog post and random rumor and people reacting to it. Anything concrete?

According to that thread, the claim is that Hulk Hogan was recorded 'dropping the N word'
To be honest, I don't think dropping a racial slur is worth scrubbing off decades of work for the WWE, as if he never existed.
It's like removing John Cena or the Undertaker from existence, it leaves a void
They arent scrubbing off his work?.. its not like they are taking back all the cash they paid him, they are just not honoring him w/ merchanside and such
Either the rant must've been super offensive or he did some other shit cause I didn't expect the Hulkster to get the Benoit treatment, even CM Punk didn't get this kind of treatment
guess he wasn't fighting for the rights of every man...
Racist or not, Hulk Hogan cannot be separated. He's a part of the history. We don't have to like him, but you can't just pretend he wasn't here.
I just hope this isn't a video from 25 years ago or something.
YOU LIED TO ME HOGAN

This is intensely hypocritical considering how much racist shit has come out of the WWE.
If this turns out to be an overblown smear job by Gawker guys in preparation for their case with him, I will be the most furious any person living or dead has ever been.

That'd probably be enough for a lawsuit of its own if that somehow were the case.

They pulled him from Tough Enough and removed him from the WWE Hall of Fame.

Gawker probably knew or have something behind this, they did delay the trail until october.

First thing that came to my head.

Sounds a lot like Gawker is behind this. Which is super fucking scummy of them.
Holy shit, they throw back to Hogan during regular programming so much (and I'm sure he was rumored to wrestle at WM32). Like he's in so much WWE Archive shit and everything, how the hell is this going happen? This is a pretty big deal for the WWE.

this isn't the reason apparently.

But that's on the show. Heels are supposed to act "racist" for the sake of getting heat, if they don't get heat from the crowd, nobody will pay to see them get beat up, that's why Vince did it, Triple H did it, and Kurt Angle did it, because they are supposed to be the bad guys in the show.
Of course, you can take it out of context and yell ray-cissms, but you'd really just be making an idiot out of yourself.
It WAS Gawker...
Giving him a warning, or fire him? That would be much more fair.
But wiping him away from the entire history of WWE? NOT cool!!

This is the thing companies do though; a person does something in the present that they think will be "bad for their brand" and thus they distance themselves from said person by removing every possible association, as if everyone will just forget.
It seems like every day I wake up to some weird as fuck pro wrestling news.
The audio is from his 2012 sex tape, but it only started to blow up now. I have a feeling Gawker used it in their case.

He said it practically four years ago. Who gives a shit?
This is probably a smearjob from Gawker-- they seem to be good at throwing shit at their opponents.
So Gawker are reporting on it.

WWE are super strict on their image so it doesn't surprise me. Just seeing the effort put in to removing Chris Benoit from history shows that.

I imagine Gawker tried to get him to drop the case against them by threatening to dig up so much dirt that it effectively destroys his life. This is him pretty much going "If I go down, I'm taking you fuckers with me".
This shit is practically blackmail.
First Kojima and now Hogan....
