Don't think he implied it was funny at all. Gazans getting bombed is terrible the same way Israel getting bombed is terrible. (though it's quite obvious which side is infinitely more successful at taking casualties without forewarning)
And that sucks, but that doesn't mean the crimes committed by your country and any less atrocious. Nobody is saying this conflict is good or that any side is free from blame, but pretending that Israel is a freedom-fighting nation of peace is facetious.
