I feel sorry for Tyler for having to be one of the channels affected by YouTube's reaction to the Adpocalypse. It was probably flagged for some stupid reason like "it had guns in it." I once had a video claimed (not taken down) for having a copyrighted song in it (yet the song I used wasn't even the song the video was claimed as). The Adpocalypse plus the US's already broken copyright laws has made this a problem for a while.
He sounds so sad :(
When it comes to being flagged for inappropriate content (and Half-Life is far and away from the level of inappropriate if people can show games like Outlast on their channels without repercussions), who or what has to do it? An automatic process, someone manually spotting a video and shutting it down, or what?
Youtube is a steaming pile of shit. With all the money and with how big google is they have no excuse for creating a better customer service experience.
Youtube wouldn't be anything if it wasn't for the content creators.
YouTube is becoming worse every second.

I heard of YouTubers getting CGL striked for talking about Patreon, one person got suspended or terminated for it.

Doesn't surprise me. YouTube risks losing their stranglehold on content creators if they can bypass adsense by using parteon

It's probably a combination of automated voice recognition triggering on blacklisted words, manual reviews (only for very large channels) and bad reports being automatically approved.
It's a complete mess.

Snowflakes run Youtubes censorship these days. I have seen channels regarding homesteading being flagged for showing how to butcher half a pig carcass.
Is there a reliable source on that? The only information I could find about it was here, and given that the source is Paul Joseph Watson of Infowars I'm really, really, really skeptical.
I saw that on Scarce, couldn't find any better sources. https://youtu.be/nMDCeKEdXE8?t=6m33s
except the problem is youtube is trying to cater to the demands of advertisers, not individuals
Most of this wouldn't of happened if the WSJ kept it's mouth shut
jesus first IHE with the Gummybear takedown and now VNN
Tylers made leaps and bounds with the quality of his channel, it's really upsetting to see something he made get flagged.
This pisses me off so much. Youtube completely shits on you unless you're one of those generic and ultra safe channels.

There's not much YT can do about that. DMCA law mandates a minimum downtime until content can be reinstated.
It will forever remain an enigma to me why youtube as big of a company they are do not have a better PR department. It's downright deplorable, you are making content creators send messages in a bottle just in hopes to contact you. I've never heard of a multi-billion business like that.

Poor Tyler can't catch a break
Maybe someone is targeting his vids and spamming false reports till Youtube's auto system kicks in?
[editline]29th August 2017[/editline]
If that's the case it's pretty sad people are still salty at Tyler because he made mistakes in the past. I know recently someone who was involved with the TF2 community gave him false information about a future jungle map just to fuck with him.
I might be wrong, but hasn't there been a trend of videos that talk about videos being flagged also get flagged themselves?
I know that Joe Goes recently uploaded a video about how 350 of his videos were marked as not being advertiser friendly, which also got flagged as inappropriate.
I have a feeling that YouTube might also be targeting videos talking about the adpocalypse and other flags, which would be pretty shit. I'm sure if I was in a position of power I wouldn't want to run ads on a video criticizing my product, but that's still scummy to do, since that comes across as trying to shut down the conversation and say "everything is fine, pay no attention to the man behind the curtains :)"
That still wouldn't explain why the episode 3 vid was flagged though.
The video talking about the flagging (second one) also got flagged and now he uploaded a test video
That still wouldn't explain why the episode 3 vid was flagged though.
Maybe Valve is flagging them until the system kicks in? Would be incredibly shitty if they were. I'm anxious about that.
I don't see it as a snowflake issue. It's a bot issue.
They pretty much always no matter what say that they reviewed the video and it did the violation and it's not getting restored ans it always ends up going to a human after a pr backlash.

-snip im dumb for reading youtube comments-
not flagged as of yet
posted this in the LGR thread but it works here, too
getting the feeling "inappropriate for advertisers" means less "this is objectionable content" and more "advertisers don't think it is worth advertising in front of".
Glad to see Youtube is treating the people that made them as big as they are today so well.
Bunch of scumbags. I know its been tried before, but I really wish someone could come up with a video platform that rival youtube.
So why exactly would advertisers want to run less ads overall? You'd think they'd want to have as many ads as they could to maximize the profits unless the video is actually something horribly offensive, seems kinda counter-intuitive to me.

Patreon wouldn't be used by so many Youtubers if it wasn't for Youtube being dogshit.

Because by and large people don't follow up on ads, so they basically became money sinks for advertisers. That and advertisers were getting wrapped up in "Ohh, this guy is alt-right and there is an ad for Target, obviously Target support the alt-right!" shit. So advertisers were saying they weren't going to use Youtube anymore because of that, but really they just wanted a lot more control over the content they appear with and the ability to pay less.
i wonder what the crossover is between people who watch these channels that are getting dinged for no real discernable reason and the viewership of said channels using adblock. it seems like a lot of more gamer/techie channels are getting blocked and i am guessing a lot of people who watch those kinds of channels are adblock users.
