A while back, a friend of mine got me into listening this new kind/genre of music aptly called Shoegazing. As soon i listened to it, it was very relaxing and soothing so to say. Plus is really good to listen to while really baked (especially after smoking indica)
What Shoegazing is:
It is a type of music that became really popular in the UK around the late 1980s and 1990-1991.
Excerpt from Wikipedia
The British music press—particularly NME and Melody Maker—named this style shoegazing because the musicians in these bands stood relatively still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state, hence the idea that they were gazing at their shoes
Here are a few shoegaze songs/tracks which i particularly like:

I like it!
Sounds a bit like Modern Indie like The Wombats, Minus the Bear, etc.
Definitely listening to this when I get baked next time.

M83 are good!
I thought this was going to be one of those threads when OP is really baked and is talking shit about a shoe.
or something.
Just looked up Minus The Bear. I wonder how bands like this exist so long without me knowing about them.

"Shoegazing".
He'd be talking about staring at a shoe? o.O

Get Omni and Planet of Ice. Best albums.
Any other bands like that? It'd be nice to have some more good non-mainstream music on my ipod for a change
Cool! But uhh... Yeah, it's just that, nothing big. I still prefer something a bit more delicate when high, otherwise I'd feel like I was wasting it. I can listen to 'easy' music any time, but this is great for just that.
And Alcest is clearly the best shoegaze band. Post-metal/shoegaze. He's a black metal musician and incorporates that into some of his songs. It works very well. You don't need to like black metal to like this, don't worry.

Amesoeurs is another one of his bands. Similar style. This one has a female singer, as well as Neige doing black metal vocals, guitar, bass, drums and synths.

And My Bloody Valentine are the first shoegaze band, so you sort of have to have them if you're a shoegaze fan.

It's pretty unfortunate that shoe-gazing is a dying genre. It's that cool emo genre that everyone can love because it doesn't sound like that shitty mainstream horse shit. Shoe-gazing always has that awesome sound you want to hear. etc.

That doesn't really sound like shoegaze.
EDIT:
I don't think it's the same sort of thing really, but The Smiths are really good. Chances are if you like shoegazgin music, you'll like The Smiths.
