McDonalds is alright but lots of American (or at least southern) chains like Whataburger, Raising Canes/Chick Fil A, Five Guys, In n Out, etc. are much better.

You know Dunkin' Doughnuts? It's the Canadian version of that, except also better. There are more Tim Hortons in Canada than any other fast food joint. There's about 7 of them on my university campus alone.

Wendy's has some god tier burgers, and their fries and pretty good as well. Definitely the best of the more mainstream chains.
Burger King can fuck off. Tim Hortons has amazing morning burgers and good coffee.

They do that in the US because Dunkin' has such deep roots in the market Tim's fills in Canada that they determined it's easier to market themselves as a competitor to Starbucks than Dunkin'.
I doubt they'd do a hostile rebranding since the name is so popular in Canada.
At worst, they'd probably introduce Tim Hortons brand sides at BK and vice versa at existing Horton chains.
