Yoshida said it's a matter of economics — the current exchange rate is the reason Sony cut the price in Japan.
Sony, really? I mean, REALLY? I think I'm going to go sit in the corner and cry.
I think I'm going to go sit in the corner and cry.
Why? PS Vita is hardly something to cry about. There aren't even that many memorable games on it yet.
Not surprised, since they are dragging it down GBA/GCN connectivity route.
The high price only makes it harder for consumers to get on board in the first place. That with the high cost of a proprietary memory card only magnifies that. There are a few interesting titles to get for it, like MGS HD Collection, Persona 4 Golden, etc. but it's hard to justify spending ~$300 on a portable game system for only a few games.
That's bullshit....
People are just going to buy them used/refurbished at lower prices, ensuring Sony gets nothing from the sale. Gamestop sells the 3G version for less than $200. I like Sony but their handheld department is the very definition of insane. It's incredible that through all the iterations of the PSP, Go, and now the Vita, they haven't learned shit about how to pull in customers.
Fuck man. I'm trying to get one. How much better is it than a regular PSP 3000?
I guess the only thing that'll be dropping is their sales forecasts then.
Sometimes, it's like Sony doesn't like making money.
Sometimes, it's like Sony doesn't like making money.
selling vitas doesn't make them any money it's the games they NEED to sell to make money for all they care, they'd rather you sell your old one to gamestop if you aren't buying any games for it. Maybe then someone will buy it and then buy the games
Fuck man. I'm trying to get one. How much better is it than a regular PSP 3000?
Also long as you don't like playing games it's fantastic!

If it wasn't for that it would've been a shit purchase, but being able to get 2 or so new games every month even if you don't like them makes it worth it.
Fuck man. I'm trying to get one. How much better is it than a regular PSP 3000?
Good hardware power, dual analog sticks, touchscreen, a wonderful large OLED display, 1080p movie playback with caption support, front- and rear camera supporting Skype and better AR than 3DS, long battery life... It's superior to the PSP in pretty much every way. ...except with the games.
I knew it. PS Vita has no games and the only selling point is remote play and cross play
I can't wait for Killzone Mercenary and TearAway.
I've forgotten how impressive the graphics are on this. Sony would definitely move some more if they did a "pre-order a PS4, get a 33%-50% off" thing.
Sony would move some more if they bundled them all with a 16gb memory card.
The games I'm seeing are starting to grab my attention (3 currently have my attention), but the price just turns me away. I May just have to buy use just to make sure I don't miss out.
