• Celebrities that died, but you had no idea until now

I didn't know where to put this thread to so I figured Films since most celebrities have been on TV. I found out today that Stanley Kubrick was dead. I'm 21, started watching all of his movies, went to wiki to see some more of his titles, found his death. This man is an artist to film making. For months I would ponder and say "Movies are becoming shit, where is this guy? Why'd he stop making films?" It's because he is dead and I had no idea.
i didn't know kim jong ill or whatever died [editline]16th January 2012[/editline]
Michael Jackson
how do you not know stanley kubrick was dead?
Father Ted ):
Quite the opposite happened to me a while ago. I thought I read somewhere that Billy Connolly was dead, but months later I found out he's very much alive and kicking. Awww yeah, zombie comedians!
Willard Christopher Smith Jr.
Willard Christopher Smith Jr.
May he rest in peace... :(
I used to think that Leonardo Dicaprio was dead for the longest time, and I was so confused when his other newer movies came out. Also, I could see why people would think that Kubrick was dead, especially since OP hadn't heard of him previously. I thought he was still alive as well until a few years ago, since he wasn't that old. I'm honestly more surprised when there's celebrities who died much later than I expected, like Akira Kurosawa, who only died in 1997.
May he rest in peace... :(
He was great in American Gangster and Inside man, he will be missed :(
May he rest in peace... :(
His performance as the police officer in Die Hard moved me to tears. :(
How can you forget his godlike performance in Bruce Almighty?
His performance in The Book Of Eli was not as good as his others, but it had a certain charm to it.
Father Ted ):
I always found it crazy that the guy who played Ted died, but the guy who plays Jack is alive and well.
how do you not know stanley kubrick was dead?
Why are you using the past tense?
An inversion, I thought Jerry Seinfeld was dead up until Bee movie came out. I don't know why I thought he was dead
Another inversion, I didn't know Harry Morgan was still alive until the news announced his death. I thought he had been dead since the 90's, he was really old even when he was in MASH in the late 70's.
heath ledger :downs:
Pete Postlethwaite
I didn't actually know he was dead till I watched The Lost Word and Inception recently.
Someone say Patrick Swayze. I dare you.
I didn't actually know he was dead till I watched The Lost Word and Inception recently.
That's one of the reasons why I cried during that scene in Inception because he was actually dying in real life
Pete Postlethwaite
Wow I had no idea about him either. How did I miss this guy's death? He was a great actor. [editline]21st January 2012[/editline]
how do you not know stanley kubrick was dead?
I didn't watch any of his films until age 18. Then at 20 I watched a few more and decided to learn about the director and saw he had been dead.
I thought Paul Mcartny was dead because my golden Beatles album yelled Paulies dead backwards
Henry from Eraserhead. Never bothered to look him up since he died 16 years ago.
This isn't recent but only a couple years ago did I learn that Scatman John is dead. He died in 1999 :(
