• WIP with Biscuit! Today's Episode: "Techno Guitar Slapping Trance Oddysey with BASS."

The next installation of WIP songs that I'll probably never finish. I wrote out some little chords, and decided to play around. I made a 4 minute electric guitar chord-slapping odyssey basically. I only put in 2:00 but please let me know what you think so far. Sorry if it offends anyone's well-cultured and tasteful ear canals :p [/pizza] Okay so as usual, if any of you could answer these questions I'd love you forever. A. Is it too loud or soft? I never know on this one. B. Is the sub-bass killing it? I wanted it to blow the channel just a wee bit to get some nice gain, but if it's too much it's too much. C. Do you like the little synth stutters that start at about 0:45? Do they get to be too much or is it too subtle? Also, I just realized that I didn't have the L-R stuttering in, so it's all on the left channel for the last third, sorry. D. I know the guitar is probably annoying and weird, but do you think it could work if I re-record it or re-mix it properly to make it more agreeable to the ear? E. If it's the distortion or mixing on the guitars that's a problem, what do you think I should try? F. Please don't mind the repetitive drum beat, it's just there until I get the kinks worked out or just drop the song entirely. Thanks so much if any of you manage to listen long enough to provide some feedback.
The guitar sounds pretty bad. It's not clear at all. I do like the idea though.
Eh, that was kind of the idea, I wanted to get a pissload of harmonics with chord really faintly in the background, and then the bass comes in and reinforces the chord, but still, I'm expecting most won't really like it. Oh, and there are three guitars when the base comes in, so that might be a contributing factor. Rated non-sarcastic heart.

it sounds real messy, the ideas are there but you definitely need to work on that mastering. the distortion is horrible
it sounds real messy, the ideas are there but you definitely need to work on that mastering. the distortion is horrible
I'm considering not doing any harmonics or tapping/slappittyslappin' until the bass kicks in, because the intro does seem kind of 'ick'. Also, agreed on the distortion, it's horrible but for some reason I always use it.
The messyness and the distortion has this crazily good feel to it, I really like it. Feels like it would be in a movie when the whole plan comes crashing down and everything goes to shit.

I'm so glad to hear that it's not completely impossible for someone besides me to get that feel from it. I always think of something somewhat melancholy or sad yet with an action-oriented element to it, like a gritty war film or something similar. Thanks for helping me confirm I'm not completely delusional :)
