i think there should be some sort of system where bleeps sound different according to which swear it is. or atleast leave in the first letter of the swear
___ off you ___ ___
The point of a bleep is to censor. You're not supposed to know what word it is.
I'll inform the FCC.
fuck the FCC goddamnit
or atleast leave in the first letter of the swear
they do that a lot anyway. also bleeps are made by the people who make the show so you'd need every show ever to agree on a standard system.
*bleep* you, you mother*bleep*ing *bloop*. I have a huge *blip*, unlike your scrawny one. That would fucking sound weird on TV. Kind of like sound effects from old games.
But the children!
Most shows BS the censorship anyways, like Metalocalypse.
The interesting point, is that if you can infer what the swear is,(by context, the first letter left in, or different bleeps)then you don't need to be censored, as you are already 'corrupted' and know the swear. The people that don't know what the swears are cannot do this, thus still works. What do you think?
I a lot of shows play the bleep but make no attempt to mute the word.
fuck the FCC goddamnit
.
As far as censorship goes, I feel that[sp]it's a load of fucking bullshit, and is pawned off by cooperations and politicians as a way to "protect out children," and that no[/sp]good can come from it.
Censoring words is so stupid. Good thing it doesn't happen here. I'm always laughing at American shows where they censor that stuff, sometimes they even censor the mouth of people swearing :v:
No, get rid of censorship.... People can monitor their own lives, I shouldn't have someone tell me what I am allowed to listen to or watch. Television shows have ratings. Televisions have a system of blocking shows with certain ratings. Why the hell would they give me the option to censor my own television if they were just going to do it for me anyways? I watched a movie the other day where the line was. "You asshole" What was it censored to? "You Ass *beep*"... Oh good, so if I don't want my kids to say the word ass... you sure as hell didn't help. Heaven forbid they learn the word "hole" though, oh no the day that happens the world has gone too far.
You do that, and people on Youtube are going to end up making poops by making songs out of them. Don't.

Besides, the majority of kids that watch these shows can easily fill in the blanks themselves. I learned the 7 back when I was in first grade.
It would sound like morse code if someone was having one of those cussing fits. BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP. Funnily enough I'm watching a Mythbusters episode about cussing excessively.
Audio censors are just retarded. Words exist to convey a specific meaning, and judging by the context that the "bleeps" are used in the meaning is still fucking there. It's pointless. Visual censors at least make some sense, since sometimes there are just things that you do not want to see.
I honestly don't see the use of audio censors. Kids are gonna learn the words anyways, so why start now?
Sensors are stupid anyways. It's not like we don't know what's behind them. 99% of the time you can tell exactly which word they used. They're just those things that are made to 'protect our kids' but don't end up doing shit, like checking your age when you go to watch a game trailer or something.
Telegraphy and telegrams were very, very obscene back in the early days. Censors all around.

How to fix cencorship: Get rid of it. If you're too much of a MOTHERFUCKING SISSCUNT to handle swearing, then don't get a MOTHERFUCKING ASSWIPING COCKSUCKING television. Instead you should MOTHERFUCKING lock yourself into a MOTHERFUCKING PISSY SHITFACED CUNTISH basement, and declare it your own little fantasy world where reality and swearing dosn't exsist. [sp]MOTHERFUCKERS![/sp]

there would have to be a key that told you what bleep was what
I love that we don't have this here. It would drive me crazy.
You beeping boop bop.
i think there should be some sort of system where bleeps sound different according to which swear it is. or atleast leave in the first letter of the swear
Completely contradicting WHY they're censored in the first place, GOOD ONE.
Completely contradicting WHY they're censored in the first place, GOOD ONE.
Its not like that would make less sense than what they do now. They don't censor to protect kids, they censor to shut up over motivated parents that like to sue things rather than parenting. Thats my guess at least. As if companies give a shit about your kids.
