I need to get better at playing guitar, I've been pretty lazy recently, I need to get some good songs to learn. Songs like stairway to heaven, Is there anybody out there?, etc. I know those songs already by the way. Thanks for your help.
Learning songs on guitar doesn't make you a better guitar player. It makes you a better at playing songs.
Hmm, stuff that sounds good, and is fun to play? To get yourself back on track, i recommend Rush! Or anything from thier album Test For Echo, it's very fun!
Try the white stripes. Not a great fan but some of their songs are pretty easy on guitar.
Betcha can't play this.
Try the white stripes. Not a great fan but some of their songs are pretty easy on guitar.
I know a lot of white stripes songs, they're so easy to figure out how to play. Currently I'm learning how to play "Another Brick in the wall pt2" by Pink Floyd, the solo, maybe someone could find some songs like that, where you learn a bit of guitar by learning the songs?
The Stone by Dave Matthews is fun and challenging. Also, singing it and playing is a bitch. Sorry, but the only ones on Youtube are crappy quality and live, download or buy the original studio version, it has great instrumentals. found the studio version [editline]04:25PM[/editline] Also, are we talking about acoustic guitar or electric guitar, or either of them?

In the Name of God by Dream Theater is fun. A lot of Black Sabbath, Metallica, Blue Oyster Cult, and Pink Floyd songs are also fun to play. Try doing some improb with jam tracks.
Try some AC/DC Easy, but cool
AC/DC, Nirvana, The Ramones. They have some very simple songs that sound sweet too.
Try some AC/DC Easy, but cool
This is a good suggestion, their lead parts sound very cool and often aren't too impossibly hard.
The Battle Of Evermore. Epic song.
Learn Tears in Heaven. Trust me, its the most overplayed song in the world but girls love it and its fairly easy to play.
Learning songs on guitar doesn't make you a better guitar player. It makes you a better at playing songs.
That doesn't make any sense.
Learn Tears in Heaven. Trust me, its the most overplayed song in the world but girls love it and its fairly easy to play.
Sounds like a great song! Just listened to it on youtube. I already know Layla, that songs sounds exactly what I need, also The battle of Evermore I will learn too. Awesome Thanks!
If you're okey with a slide, this is a classic, perhaps not the most smiple though :)
Learn Fly by night, its relatively easy once you learn the intro. Message in a bottle also is good practice for streching your fingers.
The Battle Of Evermore. Epic song.
i cant remember well, but thats led zep right?

Try to learn Enter Sandman. I've found it to be quite a fun and easy one to play. Then, after learning some other songs, if you think you're skilled enough, return to Enter Sandman and learn the solo.
Enter sandman was one of the first songs I learned, still haven't learned the solo though :sigh:
Tornado of Souls You'll get great at harmonics.
Note: NO METALLICA. Way over-rated, way overdone, way cliche.
Note: METALLICA = GOOD. Everything strongreaction said was dumb.
Metallica is great to learn cos generally it's pretty easy and sounds impressive. Even their solos are easy in comparison to others.
Learn some Slightly Stoopid.. -Closer to the sun -Fat Spliffs -Collie Man -Sweet Honey Basically any of their more popular songs. Also Santeria by Sublime is fun as hell to play and sing.
Note: NO METALLICA. Way over-rated, way overdone, way cliche.
Good to learn. Idiotic and cliched to perform.
Good to learn. Idiotic and cliched to perform.
Nah, just don't make your performance all about 'tallica. Do some less-heard songs (especially as covers, I don't think any major band has ever covered Damage Inc., among other songs), and learn a bunch because they're good for getting used to playing faster (for earlier level players). Honestly learning Metallica songs has helped alot with the way I pick especially.
