Gave me goosebumps. Though, I imagine the crowd going wilder than that.
When it happens, the crowd will literally go absolutely nuts.
Knowing valve, it would probably actually be like this
saving money
Cute
But a little predictable and cliche, too cliche for it to actually happen that way I think
I'm more a fan of the theory that Valve would just walk up on a stage and say it's out right now on steam then walk off without any prior announcement/press/etc :v:

And lose out on shit ton of money because previous Half Life game was released almost decade ago.
Every game needs marketing to sell really well, even Half Life 3.
Valve wouldn't even need a marketing dept for HL3. They could 'advertise' it using fucking Comic Sans and it'd still rake in the publicity.
I think valve would go for an ARG again, by either updating old source games with secrets or releasing a source2 game like L4D3 filled with hidden messages.
HL3 will never happen.
It'll never happen. But if it did, I'd cry.

Valve removed a lot of its staff that worked on the Portal ARG, apparently not wanting that to be a future focus.

I imagine the crowd getting surprised and laughing because nobody is expecting it anymore
Wait so when half life 3 is announced they'll reveal there never actually was a crowd in the room?
This video is a metaphor saying that by the time they announce it, no one will be interested and thus they have to fake the audience clapping because no one showed up.
how sad is it that people have arrived at the point of simulating the announcement of HL3

I wonder why no one tried to make their own HL3 yet. With blackjack. And hookers.
And no in game shop filled with stuff Valve didn't create but gets more than 60% of the cut.
So fucking corny
Even more corny was that I was expecting some sorta EAS message
I always imagined if it ever did happen, it'd be similar to Alyx in Ep 2...Gabe going about his business talking about future projects and updates, you see a quick flash of something on the screen and he mentions something completely cryptic breaking through mid-sentence then going on like nothing ever happened. ARG time, then announcement.
If it ever did happen. Which it most likely won't.
Pretty sure it'll be this.

Valve will probably shutdown before giving us the joy of having HL3.

People simulate a lot of things.
Someone should make a VR game that simulates Half-Life 3.
I really don't think that many people would care outside of older Valve fans and people in the press. Just consider the following, Episode Two released more than 7 years ago. A lot of people grew up in those 7 years, including kids who were in elementary school and they've probably never even heard of Half Life.
I'm still convinced that Half-Life 3 wont happen because we live in a time where a linear, mediocre, sci-fi single player game wont be able to compete and justify it's development time against cash cow, F2P multiplayer games or open world XYZ.

You must be insane. Half-Life 3 is insanely well known and would make headlines on every video game news outlet out there when/if announced.
Congratulations, you spoiled it. Now Valve will never do it.
The cake is a lie !!
I never played half life 1 and only some of 2 because it was on sale for like £1, is there some sort of major cliffhanger to episode 2?
Jesus Christ I'd be legitimately upset if that was their announcement.

[sp]Not to mention they were finally addressing the G-Man[/sp]
