It's Christmas time. The tree is up in all of its foresty glory, the stockings are hung by the chimney with care in hopes that a magical fat guy will come and leave some candy and free shit in the night. We all get to see our relatives that we haven't seen in forever, hang out with family, gorge on your holiday feasts, basically it's a pretty damn awesome holiday. But that's not Christmas is all about. Come Christmas, we all know that you aren't excited about that new Sontendosoft WiiBox3 or whatever you're hoping for, you're not delighted to see your Grandma OldyMcOlderson. No, you're excited for this shit: That's right, that's some goddamned eggnog. Just look at that, basking in its deliciously awesome (or awesomely delicious) glory. When you see it in your fridge, you can't help but take a giant glass of that. It has a pound of fat in every glass, and a preposterous amount of sugar, but you're going to drink it up anyways because that's what Christmas is all about. If you don't, you're just a square. "But what about light eggnog? That's not as bad for you!" Fuck you. What are you doing? No, seriously, what in God's name are you doing? Whenever I see this in my fridge, I flip a shit. This is Christmas, not a Weight Watcher's meeting! Get the high fat stuff, that's the good stuff. Oh my god, you can even booze it up. Now you're partying! "What about us lactose intolerant folks?" I am so sorry about your pitiful life, not being able to enjoy eggnog. But there's hope for you yet! You can get soy nog! It's an affront to the lord and savior Raptor Jesus, but your sins shall be forgiven on Christmas. So on Christmas morning, when you're opening presents, remember that your time could be better spent chugging eggnog.
I can't find this anywhere in the UK, so I'm going to make some some time
I never tasted it. We don't have it here in Lithuania.
I always see eggnog as an American thing.
Never had eggnog here in the UK, no one I know ever drinks it either. I don't exactly know what it is? Care to explain a bit more?
It tastes very good.
I wish there was some in Lithuania, I haven't seen it anywhere in the shops.
Eggnog is best nog. It's a thick drink with spices, sugar and fat added to make it smooth, creamy, and delicious. It's mostly milk, but VERY sweet. There's also an alcoholic version with brandy/rum added.
Never had eggnog here in the UK, no one I know ever drinks it either. I don't exactly know what it is? Care to explain a bit more?
It's like egg with brandy I think.
Always wanted to try Eggnog. Don't get it in Australia. :(
It's like thick sweet rich eggy milk goodness. It's too rich for some people, and they water it down with milk. It goes good with nutmeg or cinnamon. Drink it with things like french toast.
The OP just described my every feeling about eggnog. Well done, sir.
I wish there was some in Lithuania, I haven't seen it anywhere in the shops.
Hey! I'm from Lithuania too!
I always get sick on fucking christmas but Eggnog patches me right up, with some ibuprofen of course. Normally I drink orange juice when I'm sick but eggnog is amazing.
Fuck yeah I drink that shit by the gallon on Christmas
Always wanted to try Eggnog. Don't get it in Australia. :(
Have you been to coles the last week or two? There's been a lot of it going through the registers.
After living sixteen and a half years on this planet I have yet to try eggnog Time to go to the store.
It sounds nice, especially with brandy. Dunno about egg though... does it actually taste of egg?
It sounds nice, especially with brandy. Dunno about egg though... does it actually taste of egg?
No, not at all! The egg is just used as a thickening and emulsifying agent.
It sounds nice, especially with brandy. Dunno about egg though... does it actually taste of egg?
no
I'd love to try this stuff, you Americans bash on about it all over the holidays. I don't think we get it in the UK and I'm too lazy to make some.

Never tried it, looks delicious.
What the fuck is eggnog Is it something American [editline]24th December 2010[/editline] I'm just a silly Eurofag, please explain
Gross.
I freaking love eggnog. Eggs so cash. [editline]24th December 2010[/editline] Poor Europeans. :frown:
Gross.
you are going to find all the liquids in your house replaced with eggnog
I wouldn't be surprised if everyone ever hadn't heard of eggnog yet, but I would be surprised if it it wasn't sold in at least some stores where you live. You should try picking up a carton, it's definitely something worth trying at least once.
you are going to find all the liquids in your house replaced with eggnog
I don't wanna piss eggnog
I got a glass of Baileys Hard Eggnog right here. :smug: Fucking delicious.
