This deceased Potter was a British soldier killed in 1939, and his grave is helping draw tourists to the backwater Israeli town of Ramle. Ramle does not keep numbers on how many tourists flock to the grave in the town's British military cemetery, but tour guides and the municipality say the tombstone has become a popular attraction, largely for domestic travellers. 'There is no connection with the Harry Potter we know from literature, but the name sells, the name is marketable,' said Ron Peled, a tour guide who said he has brought dozens of groups to the grave. Private Harry Potter was born near Birmingham, England, and joined the British military in 1938. According to his regiment's website, he arrived to British mandate Palestine later that year, where he was killed in battle with an armed band in 1939. He was 18. The tombstone says, incorrectly, that he died at 19 - a result of him having lied about his age so he could enlist. The municipality said people began inquiring about the grave about five years ago, and the city listed it on its tourism website at the start of the year.
god people are FUCKING stupid
Sometimes... people just make me lol
the boy who didn't live [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] doesn't have quite the same ring to it
This reminds me of a guy who's name is Justin Bieber. Poor guy.
That's dumb as fuck
Wow, that seems pretty disrespectful and stupid. They're just letting people walk all around his grave likes its a goddamn monument, giving it attention for the wrong reason?
God i hope my name isnt the same as some famous person in 100 years
God i hope my name isnt the same as some famous person in 100 years
I'd be too dead to care.

"'There is no connection with the Harry Potter we know from literature, but the name sells, the name is marketable,' said Ron Peled" Gee, way to disrespect someone

Who cares. It's making them money off of morons, and I doubt Harry's corpse minds at all.
I feel worse for all the people named Harry Potter who have to deal with this fucking crap every day of their lives (it's a pretty ordinary name, or at least it was before JKR came along. Now only diehard faggot HP fans would even consider naming their child HP)
Wow that's just bad. I mean a soldiers grave get's a lot of visitors just because he's known as someone else not a real him.
Sometimes... people just make me lol
Sometimes... people just make me want to slam my skull repeatedly into my keyboard.

In order to avoid situations such as these, I would have a bomb planted in my coffin and it will be rigged to go off when too many people are too close to my grave for too long. (Fucking HP fans swarming around it and not leaving)
Well I'm certainly not going to your funeral
I am, it would be a blast. This is very disrespectful though, I would like to go to his grave to pay respects to him. The poor guy lied about his age so he could fight for his country and then died so early on, he deserves to rest in peace not be surrounded by faggots yelling about wizardry and shit.
Can they make one for Danieal Radcliffe's career?
OP needs spoiler tags
"HEY, let's go visit HARRY POTTER'S GRAVE! And on the way, we can go and see BAKER STREET! :downs:"
So tourists are visiting a grave just because it shares the name with a fictional character. That's desperation right there.
So tourists are visiting a grave just because it shares the name with a fictional character. That's desperation right there.
Well people go to Church every weekend but no one seems to complain about that.
Well people go to Church every weekend but no one seems to complain about that.
HAHA LOOK HOW EDGY I AM RELIGIOUS PEOPLE BELIEVE IN FAIRY TALES AND I'M ABOVE THAT excuse me while i go plan for the zombie apocalypse
If I were one of this poor kid's relatives I'd want people banned from his grave. This is incredibly disrespectful of some poor boy who died for his country; the thought of bunches of cooing teenage girls walking over all those graves just so they can look at a grave of a brave boy who was probably the same age as them when he died and pretend that he's someone else and have a laugh and get themselves into a lather just makes me sick.
Fucking hell, it's not THE Harry Potter. There have been hundreds of "Harry Potter"s in the past. Leave that grave alone.
