Hello Facepunch, not sure if this is the right section to put this into (my appologize if it is not). Since some time now (at least 1/2 year) i am no longer able to use the forum search. It has been disabled before, so i thought it might be back after a while. But it has been a long time now and all i get is:
WNxKraid, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: 1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? 2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Can anyone here tell me if this feature has been disabled/restricted in any way, or if it is an error that can be fixed on my end (e.g. cookies, known browser incompatibility). It's not exactly easy to find topics of interrest without the forum search and i haven't been as active as before here on facepunch since that simply because i don't find anything anymore.
It's right there. That's the thread's title. It's in this subforum.
Thanks, in fact i missed out that thread. Would be good to have it highlighted or something and always on top of the subforum. A general Q&A where such things are explained might be also a good idea. Judging from the thread title i'm not the first nor the only one who wondered about this. Speaking of it, there are two more questions that come to my mind now that i know about this blue member thing: How many different member levels are there? so far i saw blue, gold and green (moderators?). What exactly is required to become a member level that is able to use the search? Facepunch is quite a huge community with lots of subforums containing hundreds of threads. I simply get lost without the search and it's quite time consuming to read through all the pages of a subforum just to find a topic of interrest. It's allmost like looking for a needle in the haystack. :(

To get gold member you've gotta force-feed garry your money, or get someone else to do it for you. $9, to be precise. And no, you're not the first, nor the only one to ask that question. In fact, there have been a fine multitude of threads asking this question.
Blue is regular members, gold is gold members, purple is/was respected members, green is moderators and admins, red is banned members.
wait, what? I've never heard of this before, and i have been lurking since 2009
Purple was given to respected users. I don't really remember who got that title, but there was one guy who beat cancer who got it. Later it was removed and all respecteds were given gold instead. This was way before the new flood of golds with the join date and post limits.
FYI: the "Q&A" is AUATF
AUATF? Ok, i think i found the requirements for Gold now. Beeing here for 2+ years & having over 2000 posts. (right?) The first thing is just a question of time, but not sure how one should ever reach this 2000 posts limit without massively spamming the board. Just as an example, the forums where i'm most active in since 2008 i only have 1.520 posts now. Here i only have 77 (including this post), without spamming, without posting unneccessary comments. I ain't got a problem with not beeing a gold or w/e special member, but it's an issue of the usability of this forums when there is no forum search. Not only for me, but for all blue members i guess. As for donating to Garry, i thought it was enough to buy GMOD10 on Steam, seems i was wrong. Since GMOD also lives from user created content, is there any advantage in contributing maps, models, w/e for usage in GMOD?
Ask Us About The Forums No, you were already told how you get gold Use Google ("site:facepunch.com somethread") You're not donating if you're paying money for a product
