Why do people keep posting Jimquistion so much? If he can't handle reading a game's title why does he think that people care about what he thinks of Splatoon and the stuff that's happened around it?

What?
He praised Splatoon and then just went on about Amiibos. This is not a negative speech against Splatoon at all, just shitting on Amiibos.
Speaking of "can't handle reading a game's title"

What exactly am I missing here?

I wasn't saying that he said negative things I just don't get why people care about him

The whole "Kill the Faggot" fiasco were Jim's innocent mind couldn't handle saying faggot
Splatoon is fun though go play it

This... This is actually what you're upset about?
Get over yourself, man.
It takes Jim a few minutes to actually get to the point, which is that these Amiibos give new challenge modes, vastly aesthetically different skins and stuff, to an extent bigger than previous Amiibos, whilst being insanely rare and only really acquirable if you pay double the RRP by buying them from scalpers

its okay when nintendo does it
its okay when nintendo does it
But the whole point of this is that it's not okay?
I don't think I know ANYONE, even (if not especially) people who are actually into Amiibo collecting, that support Nintendo's shit.

Are you by chance an indie developer with a shitty game on Greenlight?
That would explain a lot.

Ah yes, a bastion of sane-minded individuals. I'm certain they represent the majority opinion.
I just can't stand his persona. It makes his videos really hard to watch, even if he may have good points.

I'm just saying they do exist.
Amiibo's were always bad.
Now they're even worse.
I think they were harmless before when they didn't add too much to the game. Now that that is no longer the case I am quite bothered by it.
And then someone made custom "Amiibo" that acts as all Amiibos.
What do Amiibos even do? Is like an AI partner thing exclusively for people who bought that Amiibo?

They unlock DLC. So now instead of paying 99 cents for a skin you have to pay upwards of $13.
What do Amiibos even do? Is like an AI partner thing exclusively for people who bought that Amiibo?
They are technically collectible figures that act as "DLC", some even give bonuses/features to multiple games.

Smash bros does it right with just having a side minigame where you train your amiibo. Amiibo tournaments are already becoming a thing and it's pretty good.
MK8 just unlocks seperate costumes for your mii.
Splatoon amiibos just unlock cosmetics and seperate side challenge missions, though they could've done something better with them.
The difference between amiibo and skylanders or disney infinity is that games aren't designed around them, they just unlock little extra pieces. In infinity or skylanders the game costs 60 dollars and it goes fuck you if you actually want to progress further without buying a bunch of figures. Amiibo on the other hand, the first set i've bought was the splatoon 3 pack (and my gf is buying me a villager) and i've still enjoyed those games to the fullest and haven't felt cheated out of content.
If you want to design a game where figures are required to play the whole game then you need to make it free to download. I'm not going to pay 60 dollars for the opportunity to buy more figures to actually play my game.

Someone was trying to spoof Skylanders to access all the locked content, but was quickly sent a cease and desist letter by Activision. Nintendo would definitely do the same, but much faster.
Mario party where it's like super items when you scan in your amiibo is shitty

I don't get why he does it. Jimquisition seems entertaining enough without it.
I'll defend this shit like the good little drone that I am and say that the content people are making a fuss about with Splatoon amounts to jack shit. If get the triple pack or buy the bundle in Europe or Japan and buy the other two separately, you'll end up with three sets of clothing that ends up being worse than the best stuff you can get and have to pay with coins the game vomits at you to upgrade them futher, two minigames and a tarted up sound test that even if it wasn't locked behind the on disc disc locked content and didn't need to secure the appropriate figures I wouldn't pay the 35 bucks plus tax for, and three guns you get near the beginning of the game but with a different skin attached to it.Yeah, I'm tired of Nintendo of America's bullshit and doing things like making Ness a Gamestop exclusive and not stocking enough to ship them to all locations and keep for at least a few days so people can get them or Target putting up preorders at 2-3AM, but content wise beyond the stuff locked away by the NFC characters for Mario Party 10, it's nothing to exactly get angry about or even write home about.

It's fine if you're actually interested in collecting these things, well, except that they're even fucking that up, of course.
But the problem is, not everyone is interested in that. I don't give a shit about figurines. But now, if I want that content that they literally locked away from me, I need to pay absolutely ridiculous money for it.
Not to even mention the fact that most of it's literally on disc DLC.

Gotta befriend someone who has gone to quest to collect all and use them for all Amiibo exclusive junk.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone would use that and make small business around it, "come and scan all amiibos for your WiiU system just 10$".

I'm not pissed about the content per say. I'm more pissed about how hard some of these amiibos are to get ahold of. They should be readily available for anyone who wants them.

I like them for Smash and using them as figures and shit
