Hey guys, my headset recently broke and now I am on the market for a new pair. I plan on using it 80% for gaming (the other 20% for listening to music on Spotify) so I would like positional audio or something that can give me a sense of "direction?". I have been looking at a bunch of guides online and I think I have narrowed it down to a couple of contenders. I don't mind if it doesn't isolate noise well because I wont be sitting right next to people. Also keep in mind that I do not have a huge budget but I will be willing to get something good (for my money at least) that costs about $60 USD.

Superlux HD681
I read an infographic guide to headphones and they recommended this for people who play videogames and don't have that much money to blow on a really good setup.

Monoprice 8323

Koss Portapro
Also I am a real noob when it comes to audio so if none of these have positional audio or what have you please don't yell at me!

I want some good headphones for playing games and occasionally listening to music on Spotify. Price range is about $60 USD and below so that I still have money for a microphone.
Note: I don't really know if this is where this thread belongs but I figured you guys new more about audio than any other sub-forum on FP so I decided to ask here. Thanks!

Holy shit I didn't notice we have a Music subsection, if a mod stumbles upon this thread can you move it there please?
All headphones have a "sense of direction" (Stereo), if you're on about audio position changing volume between the sides (which is integrated in most games these days)
I'm not much of an expert on choices of headphones , however I think the best ones out there for casual listening/gaming are the sennheiser ones, which you can find on most online stores (Amazon, Ebay, etc.) I had a pair of HD 419's, and they delivered nice, high quality sound, for a pretty low price.
I have/had a pair of sennheiser hd 202's, and they were a pretty good pair of headphones, I think they cost somewhere in the region of £20-£40 which is a reasonable price.
If you want a pretty damn good pair of headphones, get ross, more specifically these;

These things are brilliant for the price you can pick them up for. I got my first pair for 20p from a carboot sale, and my second pair cost me £6 odd off of ebay. Only reason I got a second pair was because I stepped on my first. The sound quality is pretty good, has stereo sound (obvs) and has handy little dials on the side that you can use to adjust the noise in each ear. If you can, get a pair with the gold jack, my second pair has a standard jack, unlike my first pair, and they weren't quite as bassy.
we have a headphone buying guide thread in the hardware section, go ask there, they know their stuff
One of my buddies swears by the monoprice set, I tried them and they're a steal for the money.
For $60, though, save yourself a lot of hassle and get a pair of Sony MDR-V6s. They're built like a tank. You'll probably want to swap out the earpads with some $20 ones down the line, but the stock ones should last you for quite some time.
Thanks for the input everyone, but I will ask this question in the hardware section like killerteacup suggested. Also sorry about the title as it could be misleading, I didn't realize that it could be mistaken at the time.
But feel free to give me more info if you care.

How are they for listening to music when others are around? Often I am in quiet places and rather not disturb others who are working. Also I'm often in loud places and rather not have to deal with the outside noise.

And what the fuck I can't find them online for $60.
As long as you're not listening to music at an obnoxiously loud volume, they'll be fine. There are better sets when it comes to isolation, that's for sure, but these are sick for the money.
Yeah, my bad on the price, I forgot to mention I bought mine used. Amazon's got a new pair listed at $66, but if you're willing to take a chance you can get a used pair for like fifty bucks (and you'll save the time needed to burn them in). Replacement pads are pretty much a must with these headphones though, the stock ones tend to flake off the fake leather shit. Trust me, it's worth the extra cash. Sony hasn't changed the V6 design in 28 years for a reason.

I'll have to look into them. I think they'll do much better than my MDR-V150 which broke slightly when traveling and they barely stay together while on my head. Sony headphones I really like though from use.

Holy shit we have the previous models of that, it's from the stoneage but it still works as my backup headphones.

I'm using the sansui SS-2 headphones, they don't sound that bad either.
Those look really comfortable, and I saw that they're not too expensive on ebay. How's their sound reproduction?
I think they're pretty rad. I know they're durable as hell. As for sound, i find it does the job quite well.
