[/B]the apple would have been thrown away, because when the pilot started the afterburners we all got kicked back about half a meter, because of the force coming from the engine. you could literally fell it pushing down you nose, ear(even with ear buds and protection), mouth and your ass, yeah i felt like taking a big wet dump after that.

Not sure about Falcons but Hornets can exhaust their entire fuel supply in like 8-10 minutes of solid afterburner, purely dumping avgas on the jet flame.

also, the diamonds in the jet flame are caused by the thousands of shock waves bouncing around in the wake of the jet, so sound is literally forcing the exhaust into that shape.
