I had a 5minute clip of pink panther audio redone, for school. When I try to render I end up with 1GB size clips instead of 50mb like everyone else. I havent been to those classes for a while, this is a class I'm trying to turn in after a few years so I dont remember how to tweak the settings. Can anyone help?
Hi man, I tried using .avi and it turned out 33GB then I used MP4 and wmv and it turned out in 1GB... which is odd because I've looked at other peoples files, of the same clip with only 50MB of size...
Hey, thanks! That actually worked pretty well, I couldnt find the 2.4mb in the options so I went with 3MB and its now only having 130MB in size, I'll try a lower option to check the size/quality balance but its definitively on the right path :) thanks
I use customized presets which are based off the 6 mbps 720p preset and the 8mbps 1080p presets, use those for optimal quality.
What you can also do is render it out uncompressed, then pass it through a DivX converter. It gives you great quality at a few megabytes per minute of video. Then again, this does add an extra step, and means you'll use a lot of hdd space in between operations, so I wouldn't recommend it for big projects.
Not really, my videos usually go around 200 megs per minute which in my opinion is nothing after what I've seen.
The main problem with those presets is that they will make the video file huge.
I've always used 30mbps for 720p and 50mbps for 1080p. :v:

Bitrates in relation to filesize is not a science. So it shouldn't be some magical mystery why some things get big. Video kbps + audio kbps / 1024 * 8 * Length in seconds = Filesize in MB
