the top sign reads: "look at this, sean, our hero, all of Israel is here with you."
Sean was one of the two lone soldiers from the US, who were killed in the July 20th battle in Shejaiya, Gaza. 13 IDF soldier were killed in that fight.
....
There was concern, as Carmeli was a lone soldier, that not many people would show up for his funeral. WhatsApp messages went out, informing people as to the time and place of the funeral.
Sickening to think that some people were actually happy when people like him died. Whether you're an Israeli soldier or a Palestinian civilian being buried, rest in peace.
What do they mean by him being a lone soldier?
What do they mean by him being a lone soldier?
If you've been to the canberra war memorial its the same as the unknown soldier there. Basically someone with noone to mourn for them or know they existed.
What do they mean by him being a lone soldier?
A soldier who emigrated to Israel without his family.

Who was happy when the soldier(s) died?
Well it's not hard to get some sick joy out of the death of someone who (from your viewpoint) was helping to contribute to the death and destruction of your community, at least in some symbolic way. Not saying it's right, but I can understand it
Supposedly Starpluck, he said he was happy that only soldiers die on Israeli side
The worst thing is that a user who totally owned him got banned.
Supposedly Starpluck, he said he was happy that only soldiers die on Israeli side
He never pointed out he was happy about it.
With Israel having an 85% civilian death ratio because of mass stupid attitudes like this rampant in IDF, I am rather pleased to hear that the disproportionate civilian killings is not replicated on both sides.
This is what he wrote. What he say is he is happy that the civilian casualties are not replicated on both sides.
If you understood that as he was happy for the soldiers to die then you can basically say that he was also happy that Hamas soldiers were also killed.
Stop making shit up just to start a useless fight on the internet.
Atleast this guy got buried while people on the other side cant even go bury their dead in fear of getting targeted.

Maybe if a moderator could learn to act like a moderator, this wouldn't be happening.

If you are saying i'm mindlessly defending Starpluck and Hamas then you sir are a fool. People keep justifying every single Palestinians dead by Israel saying " Hamas is to blame here, they fire rockets What do you expect Israel to do, Hamas are using Human shields". When people points out any wrongdoings done by Israel they get smashed with " You support terrorists you little shit, you are so biased against Israel, the only democracy in the middle east."
Let's not forget that guy was banned because he was flaming and swearing at him and he got banned for it by Swebonny not Starpluck.

Starplucks posts are the antithesis of what you just described. He defends Hamas and Palestine just like that.

FYI if you decide to bring this (libel) up across multiple threads to derail and threadshit as this user has, don't expect leniency when banned. Without needing to speak on its deceitfulness, you don't get to inject your libel in the beginning of every single Palestine-related thread you come across for the sole purpose of derailing the topic into something entirely false.

Just in case you're coming back on an alt:
Are you really this retarded? He's glad that there AREN'T more deaths.
He's saying "Oh, good that israeli soldiers aren't dying more"
Not "KILL ALL ISRAELI SOLDIERS"
Jesus fuck, reading comprehension.
To all the idiots rating disagree:
"With Israel having an 85% civilian death ratio because of mass stupid attitudes like this rampant in IDF, I am rather pleased to hear that the disproportionate civilian killings is not replicated on both sides."
Let's point it out to all you moronic shills. "I am rather pleased that the disproportionate civilian killings is not replicated on both sides" = I am glad that not more israeli people are dying.
FYI if you're going to bring this (libel) up across multiple threads to derail and threadshit as this user has, don't expect leniency when banned. You should know by now that some facepunchers love nothing more than putting words in your mouth, taking posts completely out of context and looking at everything in black and white. In your case it went from "I'm just glad so many civilians aren't dying on both sides" to "I'm happy soldiers are dying".
Now to get back on the topic. I think it's strange how they made a big public spectacle of the funeral, surely he had some family back in Texas? It's sad that he died but still I can't help but think this is being made into a bit of propaganda thing.
The worst thing is that a user who totally owned him got banned.
I'm right here, actually.
can I make a suggestion not to ban people you are arguing against even if it is libel
I am sorry for that soldier. RIP
aslo
I dont like the way Starpluck behaves. Bro, you can't overuse your power.
I'm right here, actually.
Yeah but they applied a ban because you were "disrespectful" while the same mod you were owning was also disrespectful many times.

You forgot the part where we also shouldn't expect leniency for being banned for arguing against your shit opinion.

He's an alt of a permabanned user anyway, so it doesn't really matter either way.

Not exactly. This is more about the way Israelis think of soldiers.
Because of conscription we don't consider soldiers as trained professionals we pay to do our dirty business (they don't get paid), or even as "Heroes".
Our soldiers are us. Either our 18 year olds fresh out of high school, or everyone else when called up for reserve duty. Which is why when a soldier dies, for Israelis that's just as terrible as when a civilian dies. In some ways even worse, because it was mostly just a kid that we put in harm's way to protect us.
That's why Israelis are okay with releasing hundreds of convicted murderers in return for one kidnapped Soldier, even the body of one.
And also why when a soldier dies it's not just the immediate family that attends the funeral, but everyone- extended family, high school friends, everyone that served with him. So for us, a small funeral for someone that gave his life in a war is incredibly sad. That's why people spread the word on social networks, not just for the soldier in the story but for every lone soldier, and why complete stranger came to attend the funerals by the thousands.

This actually makes perfect sense. Didn't think of it that way, thanks!
