Not to mention, that some people were so impressed that they contacted Popular Mechanics and put it up on their website!
If you look around the internet, you can find pretty much anything. That includes the instructions you need to build a self-loading, semi-automatic pistol completely from scratch, with nothing more than some metal, a few basic tools, and a few dozen hours. That, and a bucketful of effort; this is no quick-start guide for criminals. Clinton Westwood, longtime reader of Popular Mechanics and now amateur gunsmith, found a set of these plans himself, and went about trying to follow them. The finished product the plans showcase is a horrifying mess of a contraption that looks like it might go out and commit murders in an alleyway of its own accord, but the finished product Westwood was able to produce—dubbed the Krikit—is one fine piece of workmanship. You can see the two above and I'll let you guess which is which. Through the process of following the plans, Westwood made a few departures and improvements, while documenting them all in a series of high quality photos. He also cut together this YouTube video, which lets you follow the entire process from start to finish. I have been talking back and forth with him, and he's considered putting up other channels in which he builds firearms with far more professional tools, as well as doing something similar to Man At Arms and going about building firearms from video games and TV shows. Who knows, maybe if he does go forward with the latter of the two, we might see him build the Semi-Auto or Bolt Action Rifle from Rust!
The time and tools required to disassemble the gun makes it kinda impractical.
The time and tools required to disassemble the gun makes it kinda impractical.
There's way more factors than a guns disassembly time that make a firearm impractical, besides this is a DIY gun.

What's even more impressive is that the normal guide will only get you to build a gun akin to this: [t]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/WfvJtjbY9TM/maxresdefault.jpg[/t] One on the left is the usual from those who build by the guide, the one on the right is the Krikit25.
doesn't look half bad aesthetically either
It looks like a Bond Villain type of gun. I like it.
All though it isn't built with all the high tech equipment used these days, I sorta wish Clint would sell these. Would be awesome to buy one and have a unique if not one of a few handgun.
