The Federal Government plans to challenge ACT same-sex marriage laws in the High Court when the territory enacts legislation. Source: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-10-10/commonwealth-to-fight-act-gay-marriage-bill/5014872
Fucking Abbott Government.
Fuck the Federal government for interfering
"We would like to oppose your pro-gay marriage laws under the legal grounds that the bible says so and we think gay people are icky."
I still have no idea why people voted for this guy.
I still have no idea why people voted for this guy.
Most people didn't even do their research, they were just sick of labour, I'm estimating it's only a few more months until people realize their mistakes. And then I can point, Point and laugh.
Government will probably win as well, seeing as the states have a low amount of power. [editline]10th October 2013[/editline] Which I don't mind, but its shitty that they're exercising it over gay marriage legislation
Fucking Abbott Government.
It's fucking stupid that we still don't have same-sex marriage in Australia, however the Government and AG have the duty to protect the Constitution. Marriage is listed as one of the Commonwealth Parliament powers in s.51, and s.109 of the Constitution makes any differences between State and Commonwealth or s.28 of the Australian Capital Territory (Self Governance Act) 1988 (Cth) makes any differences between the ACT and Commonwealth invalid. A NSW Parliamentary Inquiry couldn't determine if states legislated same-sex marriage that those laws would hold up, if challenged, in the High Court. At least by passing these laws, creating a fuss, it gets the topic talked about.
Fuck off Abbott. I still can't believe we got this shithead instead of Rudd.
(What I said in the other thread about this when they were indicating it)

Their constant bitching and complaining about how the Rudd/Gillard/Rudd Government had fucked them over... ...and I promised them that I would never let them live it down when Abbott digs a bigger hole, and makes their workplace even more unbearable.

ACT represent!

Apparently there was a massive carpet-calling campaign from the union to its members to ensure they didn't vote the Liberals, because why be part of a union if you are going to vote for the people who are going to reduce their ability to help you? People actually considered that as members of a union...

Someone save us please We have to deal with every deadly animal ever and the mood swinging weather Now we have this retard running the place
Someone save us please We have to deal with every deadly animal ever and the mood swinging weather Now we have this retard running the place
The deadly animals are fine if you grow up with them, people adapt. I mean every Australian is taught to wrestle Crocs growing up so that it doesn't become an issue later on in life. We also desensitize ourselves to poison via Vegemite.
Tony Abbott is a cunt
But Tony and Co. love going to weddings, they make taxpayers pay for the transport and accommodation for weddings they attend. Hypocrites. I didn't vote for this cunt.
People were selling these on the main road in my city the other day
It's a rare day when a Prime Minister of a democratic nation is almost universally hated not only immediately after being elected, but also considerably prior.
