so, can someone ELI5 why may day is so controversial for me please? literally never heard of may day until now

May Day is a public holiday usually celebrated on May 1. It is an ancient northern hemisphere spring festival. It is also a traditional spring holiday in many cultures. Dances, singing, and cake are usually part of the celebrations that the day includes. In the late 19th century, May Day was chosen as the date for International Workers' Day to commemorate the Haymarket affair in Chicago. International Workers' Day may also be referred to as "May Day", but it is a different celebration from the traditional May Day.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_Day Basically a common protesting day.
Jesus what the fuck is wrong with people
Just visit /r Anarchism sometime and see how these people work out their actions. This thread just popped up today due to recent protests. https://www.reddit.com/r/Anarchism/comments/68nw5s/violence_is_fucking_scary/
Jesus what the fuck is wrong with people
Depends on where you live. In Detroit it is known as "devil's night". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_Night#Angels.27_Night

Because you know the best way to show that your ideology is peaceful and for the people is to riot and be violent.
wtf yawmwen told me molotovs weren't that dangerous.
Is it weird to be feeling nostalgia for yawmwen's weird-ass posts? Because this hit me right in the nostalgia.
The homeless have teamed up with the cops to combat Antifa in Portland :v:
The homeless have teamed up with the cops to combat Antifa in Portland :v:
That irony when you are middle/upper class communist Antifa member fighting in the "revolution," and even the homeless you thought you represented are against you. Or even the actual working class for that matter.
