A middle-aged Swedish man has been found alive after having sat snowed under in his car for the past two months, with only ice and snow to keep him alive. The man, who is from southern Sweden, was found on Friday in his vehicle parked on a forest track near the northern town of Umeå, according to a report in the local Västerbottens-Kuriren (VK) daily. "Absolutely incredible that he is alive, in part considering that he hasn't had any food, but also bearing in mind that it was really cold for a while there after Christmas," a member of the emergency services told the newspaper. How the man managed to get stranded at the end of the forest track and how he remained undiscovered for such an extended period of time remains a mystery. The man, who is reported to have been seriously emaciated and barely able to speak or move when he was finally freed from his snowy lair, was discovered by a pair out snowmobiling. The men spotted the seemingly abandoned vehicle, cleared some of the snow and peered in to find to their surprise that there was a person moving around inside, according to the VK report. They called the emergency services and the police snowmobile search and rescue team and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. According to the attendant medical staff, it is estimated that he had been in the vehicle for around two months, the time period accepted as the limit for a human to be able to survive without food. The man is now recovering from his ordeal in intensive care at Umeå University Hospital. While mystery surrounds the man's plight, it has been concluded that he was able to remain alive due to the plentiful supply of snow embracing his vehicle.
The Local
Fucking hell that's endurance.
DAYUM
He has viking blood in him.
He has viking blood in him.
He has ice running through his veins.
I would go insane being just trapped in a small space with nothing to do, no one to talk to, for two months. Not to mention the fact that theres no food or bathroom facilities.

Not even my viking-gene stands a chance against this guy...
I would go insane being just trapped in a small space with nothing to do, no one to talk to, for two months.
Sounds like the past 4 years of my life...
It is so odd to think about what i've been doing those past few months, living my life, going to class and work over and over, and to think that there was some one like this trapped the whole time. Its kind of terrifying.
Wow, he was really lucky they found him when they did. Two months is basically the upper limit for going without food isn't it?
Did he even try getting out? Then again he must have consumed a lot of snow so he was probably very deep.
-fine geez i was wrong the ticker is going haywire-
Why didn't the man get out of the car while he still could?
Actually it's about 3 weeks.

According to the attendant medical staff, it is estimated that he had been in the vehicle for around two months, the time period accepted as the limit for a human to be able to survive without food.

Why didn't the man get out of the car while he still could?
snowstorm?
Wow, he was really lucky they found him when they did. Two months is basically the upper limit for going without food isn't it?
It says that right in the article.
snowstorm?
Maybe, but he still could've made his way out of the car after the snowstorm ended.
From the comments:
Glad he made it, but for future reference, sir, the doors open from the inside, too.

I would go insane being just trapped in a small space with nothing to do, no one to talk to, for two months. Not to mention the fact that theres no food or bathroom facilities.
Surely surviving off of ice for 2 months would mean he wouldn't have had to excrete?
So many questions. But I guess by the time he's in the condition to talk freely about it again the press will have moved on already.
Maybe, but he still could've made his way out of the car after the snowstorm ended.
Not if the layer of snow was thick enough to go from the ground and up to his waist.
He has ice running through his veins.
Icy what you did there.
Regular Ordinary Swedish Dieting.
I didn't even think about that, damn. Did anybody even know that he was gone?
Honestly without food those processes just stop after a few days He would've kept pissing though, with the snow...
Surely surviving off of ice for 2 months would mean he wouldn't have had to excrete?
He would the first few days. And then he'd have to piss as well.
Not if the layer of snow was thick enough to go from the ground and up to his waist.
He probably couldn't displace the snow when trying to open the door, and then couldn't break the glass of his windows or winshield. If he had the proper tools, say, a thin piece of metal to break ice and penetrate and loosen snow, he could probably have easily moved enough snow/ice around to get out, but without them, it would be almost impossible.
This is the car.

This is the car.
Why exactly couldn't he get out? I'm sure he could if he tried hard enough.
This is the car.
Surely he could have smashed a window and dug his way out?
