Pak Rim-su, chief delegate of the North Korean military mission to the inter-Korean truce village of Panmunjom, gave the message by phone to Gen. James Thurman, the commander of the U.S. Forces Korea, KCNA news agency said. It came amid escalating tension on the divided Korean peninsula after the North’s third nuclear test earlier this month, in defiance of U.N. resolutions, drew harsh international condemnation. A direct message from the North’s Panmunjom mission to the U.S. commander is rare. The U.S.-South Korean Combined Forces Command is holding an annual computer-based simulation war drill, Key Resolve, from March 11 to 25, involving 10,000 South Korean and 3,500 U.S. troops. The command also plans to hold Foal Eagle joint military exercises involving land, sea and air manoeuvres. About 200,000 Korean troops and 10,000 U.S. forces are expected to be mobilized for the two month-long exercise which starts on March 1. "If your side ignites a war of aggression by staging the reckless joint military exercises...at this dangerous time, from that moment your fate will be hung by a thread with every hour," Pak was quoted as saying. "You had better bear in mind that those igniting a war are destined to meet a miserable destruction."
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/23/us-korea-north-idUSBRE91M05220130223
Again? If they keep saying it they'll wear it out. [editline]b[/editline] Oh wait, they already did
North Korea threatens itself with "final destruction", realizes its talking to a mirror.
"Final Destruction XXVII"
Maybe they're insane enough to carry out this final destruction this time, they carried out 2 other final destructions in 2010. Kind of scary knowing one of these threats could be real.

As much as I tell myself that they're not a threat I am still paranoid by the fact that another nation is actually threatening with nuclear weapons (or at least implied nuclear weapons.)
So what are you really gonna do, N. Korea? Throw more propaganda filled with cliche-ass talk and music from western video games?
really impressive suicide note NK!
So what are you really gonna do, N. Korea? Throw more propaganda filled with cliche-ass talk and music from western video games?
maybe this time they'll use the Fallout 3 theme for extra final destruction
really impressive suicide note NK!
Agreed, one of these days North Korea is going to threaten someone to the point where they won't just laugh it off, and when they do they'll get completely obliterated.
Careful they might make a video using BFs theme with videos of burning american troops.
Agreed, one of these days North Korea is going to threaten someone to the point where they won't just laugh it off, and when they do they'll get completely obliterated.
Except for the part where if NK goes down Seoul goes with it.
That could be worse than the initial destruction!
As much as I tell myself that they're not a threat I am still paranoid by the fact that another nation is actually threatening with nuclear weapons (or at least implied nuclear weapons.)
There is absolutely no reason to fear North Korea's nukes. They might have nuclear weapons, but they lack any delivery system to use them with. The only way they can actually use a nuclear bomb would be on the back of a big truck, or with a trebuchet. ...Nuclear trebuchet would be boss. [editline]23rd February 2013[/editline] Of course, yes, Seul would be gone within minutes.
Of course, yes, Seul would be gone within minutes.
this is pretty much one of the main reasons nobody's slapped NK's shit so far north korea is essentially holding seoul hostage
Or by you know, the method of delivery used with the first ones, a plane.
Their nukes are most likely in the Fat Man size range. They don't have a single plane capable of actually carrying something that huge. Unless they're gonna jury-rig one of their transports to do the job, in which case, good fuckin' luck dodging AA missiles.
I'd love to record a video of various groups of the US army laughing and pointing their fingers at the camera and send it to NK.
They seem to have no problem with lobbing missiles at an island and launching torpedoes at ships "at this dangerous time". This is just procrastination. The problem will either wear you down over a long period, or you can deal with it swiftly, rebuild and not deal with it at all anymore. They've been poking SK over the DMZ for ages now, it's about time they rightfully retaliate, in which case neither Russia nor China could have anything to say about it. Go through with the operations, issuing a counter-warning: if they do anything more than throw empty threats - if their actions harm even one SK citizen or soldier, the first stone is cast. Goddammit, politics...

Life in South Korea goes on normally as well as the rest of the world. NK can very well sit in their corner of the world and scream themselves blue. Nothing will happen until NK steps REALLY far out of line.

If the south tries anything or anyone tries anything the North can have Seoul literally taken off the face of the earth in under an hour.
I wouldn't mind seeing our B-2's in proper use against the NK Artillery emplacements The last time they flew they dropped bombs in Libya, flying all the way there, and back from the United States. 4 Aerial refuels, too.

I'm stationed in South Korea. NK isn't going to do anything and the SK/US forces have been doing drills for years, as you can find on online articles. People are just quick to freak out. The reason North Korean talks the talk is because they know they're no match in direct military confrontation, and if they don't make themselves look tough, they're worried they'll be attacked; which as everyone knows, the United States Army is a defensive Army... And the reason they set off the nuke a few weeks ago, is because they were told not to do it. North Korea is just trying to act tough, because they think they have to defend themselves against a threat that isn't there. They're still at war with South Korea. There has not been a truce, just a cease-fire. They feel like they have to defend themselves. There won't be any confrontation. Relax.

You declare war on the North, millions of people in Seoul are killed in minutes as shells start to rain down on their heads.
"Final Destruction XXVII"
Who's gonna play Cloud's angst?
Careful they might make a video using BFs theme with videos of burning american troops.
One of these days, they're gonna find Spec Ops: The line and have a field day with it.
