I really believe music adds so much to a work of fiction. It gives it so much soul and power, and the composers behind these epics (hey internet, see how I used the word 'epic' in the proper context?) deserve much more notarization. Here are a few of my favorites:
Tried to find all HD versions, since they're worth nothing less.
"He's a pirate!" - Hans Zimmer
"When you marooned me on that god forsaken spit of land, you forgot one very important thing, mate: I’m Captain Jack Sparrow."

"Victory(?)" - Hans Zimmer
Through Wizard, Woad, and Saxon, he is the true king of Britannia

Halo and Mass Effect have amazing orchestral music, and X-ray dog are amazing composers.
My favorites are probably:
Q-Factory Music
Cavendish Music
City Of The Fallen
West One Music
PostHaste Music
Bruton Music
Non-Stop Music
Audiomachine
Two Steps From Hell
Brand X Music
Sonic Symphony
Shockwave Sound
But there are a lot more awesome groups out there.
Currently listening to Sands of Time by Audiomachine.

I love Jeremy Soule's work. He's the music composer behind The Elder Scrolls series (at least from Morrowind up to Skyrim as far as I know). And he's done work for Relic (if you listen closely you'll notice a striking similarity to the overall sound between the Dawn of War and Oblivion/Skyrim soundtracks).

All of the above give me major chills. He has a way of making tremendously powerful melodies and string progressions.
Don't mean to go so far in this direction but come on, this is undeniably well known and great.

Partly because it's not like most of the Who music and it complemented the scene it was used in really well

I will love this song to the grave

The MW2 story mode was pretty repeative in terms of gameplay, but the music, (which is composed by Hans Zimmer) made the entire thing worth it. Still get chills when I hear this.
Nobody beats Jeremy Soule, the John Williams of Video games.

As much as I hate Tom Cruise, I really liked this movie. The soundtrack really helped drive it.
