• Do you think Africa is doomed, or that it hit a bump in it's progression as a continent?

With current standings today, only 66% of African's adults polled said they could read, which is a sad thing to ever hear about a continent if you live in said continent. So, we have government's which obviously seem corrupt, we have an ever increasing illiteracy rate, and our economy is so weak it could bring depression to the anyone living on this continent. So my question in short is, through your own opinion and facts, do you think our continent is doomed, or are we seriously stressing out over small things while we're in a slow point while we could still overcome our problems? I believe that Africa has plenty of promise but due to militias taking over and corrupting many areas all throughout Africa, Africa is doomed to become a total anarchist continent littered with extreme crime, illiteracy and violence if they do not act soon. I would inquire what this 'progression' is that you speak of that was allegedly present on the continent of Africa after the Byzantines lost Egypt.
A country full of blacks, no hope. [sp]I'm kidding, fuck off.[/sp] No, but seriously, I believe Africa could be an amazing nation if it wasn't for the war and extremely weak centralized government. These conflicts are hundreds of years old though, so someone is going to have to figure out a way to end them before the country is going to be able to progress. As the population increases, so does the number of illiterates. The percentage is what matters, and that has increased.
