On Stormtrooper's and their aim since he commented on it (I wrote this on another forum): The only time they're shown not hitting things is when they're under orders not to. Remember, Darth Vader wanted to let Luke and the gang escape the Death Star (Tarkin's "You're sure the homing beacon is secure aboard their ship? I'm taking an awful risk, Vader. This had better work" line) so of course the Stormtrooper's aren't actually going to hit our intrepid heroes, who have just been lured into a trap without realizing it almost entirely (Leia does comment about how it seems fishy, just letting them go). However, in nearly every other instance with the Stormtroopers they're kicking major ass. Tantive IV, Hoth - Obi Wan even comments on the accuracy of Stormtroopers in Ep. IV ("These blast points ... Too accurate for Sand People. Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise"). Beyond that, the only other actual battle involving Stormtrooper's was Endor. However, it's not that they weren't hitting things then, they were faced with overwhelming numbers of small creatures (and that that point they're just swarmed after breaking up into the forest). That's always a tough fight, even for the Stormtroopers. And as a sidenote, the Tie-Pilots are fairly good as well, remember that nearly every Rebel pilot that went up during the Battle for the Death Star got shot down. Basically, the Stormtroopers are far from incompetent and can actually hit shit. also this was terribly unfunny and representative of why CinemaSins hasn't been funny in for so long, way too nitpicky (like the "HOW DOESN'T HE KNOW WHO PRINCESS LEIA is thing, according to Wikipedia there are 400 Billion Stars in the Star Wars galaxy, 180 billion Star Systems spread over about a length of 120,000 Light Years, and with 5-20 million sentient species. How the fuck is he supposed to know one princess from one planet especially since he's never gotten off of Tatooine before???) and way too long. Kevin Smith's lines were all terribly unfunny as well.
Was the whole Kevin Smith part REALLY necessary?
cant even get past 6 minutes, this is so bad. seriously. cant believe this goes on for 20 minutes.
Was the whole Kevin Smith part REALLY necessary?
nope, just like most cameos
The way they're upholding these two guys as gods is getting old
CinemaSins is more fun watching when you haven't watched the movie. Sure it spoils the entire movie for you but it just feels more fun to watch that way. Watching CinemaSins bitch about a movie you already watched feels a bit boring. Sure it breaksdown the movie a bit but it just feels boring.
Why is Kevin Smith so goddamn unfunny
Be great if they actually bitched about movies that were bad and did actually make stupid mistakes. They're being as tryhard as Nostalgia Critic now.
The shit they mention is so tryhard and sex jokes everywhere ffs
The shit they mention is so tryhard and sex jokes everywhere ffs
"wait they're not sex robots" I cringed so fucking hard
The shit they mention is so tryhard and sex jokes everywhere ffs
I like how it's a "cinema sin" if the scene doesn't give you a lap dance or something stupid like that.
I normally like Kevin Smith but he was trying way too fucking hard in this video.

Oh something that hit me as I'm rewatching ANH is that they complain about Vader not Force Choking Captain Antilles. That's because they didn't want to reveal the force just yet. Notice how the Force Choking scene isn't until AFTER Obi-Wan explains things to Luke. That's some smart film making, and doesn't reveal early that Vader can control the force while still making him be ultra-threatening
I normally like Kevin Smith but he was trying way too fucking hard in this video.
it feels like they got him to read lines someone else wrote for him while trying to be like him
God damn Kevin Smith get to the point
boy im not even a star wars fan and this video stinks
Wait I thought the appeal of these videos was due to how ridiculous the criticisms are?
Am I the only one to find cinemasins unfunny?
Am I the only one to find cinemasins unfunny?
Did you read the thread at all?
While i don't find cinemasins funny and i don't know who Kevin Smith is, apart from being fucking annjoying and unfunny and cringeworthy, i still like watching Cinemasins. They are not really meant to be taken seriously. I mostly watch the channel to see what sort of stupid shit they can come up with or just point out bloopers or bring up plot inconsistencies or stupid characters or whatever in my favourite movies or movies that i've seen. It's probably the best when they sin some shitty or well known movie IMO. Most of these days they focus too much on movies that aren't well known or are just plain average at best. That and the fact that they do one or two movies in a series and then just abandon it.

It's kind of hard to appreciate stuff like this when you learn pretty much everything about these movies through osmosis before you can see them. I wish I could feel the true impact that the reveal that Vader is Luke's daddy is supposed to have.
Wait I thought the appeal of these videos was due to how ridiculous the criticisms are?
It was fun when they did 6-10 minutes long videos because the sins were picked properly and mostly better written. At some point they started to do these 10+ minutes long videos were they really started to nitpick and add their "cinemasins classic" sins (like "the scene doesn't include a lap dance", "hot actress isn't my girlfriend"). Not sure why they started to stretch them so much. I think Youtube changed their system and to get the same amount of money you had to make your videos longer than before the change.
Did you read the thread at all?
I did. What I meant was that I never found them funny from the start. Everyone's talking how its getting unfunny.
